DEVELOPMENT OF IMMUNOASSAYS FOR THE IRON‐REGULATED PROTEINS FERREDOXIN AND FLAVODOXIN IN POLAR MICROALGAE1

Journal of Phycology, 2009
While the growth of Southern Ocean phytoplankton is often limited by iron availability, there are no comparable experiments on sea‐ice algae. Here we assess the use of ferredoxin and flavodoxin to investigate the iron nutritional status of sea‐ice algae and describe the development of a quantitative immunoassay for both proteins in marine diatoms. High‐

Characterization of aldehyde ferredoxin oxidoreductase gene defective mutant in Magnetospirillum magneticum AMB-1

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2003
A non-magnetic mutant of Magnetospirillum magneticum AMB-1, designated as NMA21, was generated by mini-Tn5 transposon mutagenesis to identify genes involved in bacterial magnetic particle (BMP) synthesis. Alignment of the DNA sequences flanking the transposon allowed the isolation of an open reading frame (ORF2) within an operon consisting of five ...

Abstract 4464: Ferredoxin 1 is essential for embryonic development and lipid homeostasis

Cancer Research
Abstract Mammalian ferredoxin 1 and 2 (FDX1/2) belong to an evolutionary conserved family of iron-sulfur cluster containing proteins and act as electron shutters between ferredoxin reductase (FDXR) and numerous proteins involved in critical biological pathways.

Cloning and expression of the ferredoxin gene from extremely halophilic archaeon Haloarcula japonica strain TR-1

Biometals, 2001
The gene encoding a ferredoxin (Fd) from Haloarculajaponica strain TR-1 was cloned and sequenced. Sequence analysis of the cloned Ha. japonica Fd gene revealed that the structural gene consisted of an open reading frame of 387 nucleotides encoding 129 amino acids. The deduced amino acid sequence of Ha.

Amino acid sequence of ferredoxin isolated from Cyanidium caldarium strain RK-1.

Protein sequences & data analysis, 1990
Ferredoxin was isolated from ther eukaryotic alga Cyanidium caldarium strain RK-1 and its amino acid sequence was determined. The ferredoxin is composed of 97 amino acid residues, and its molecular weight is 10,599 excluding the iron-sulfur cluster. The amino acid sequence differs from that of C.

[Correlation of serum ferredoxin 1 and lipoic acid levels with severity of coronary artery disease].

Nan fang yi ke da xue xue bao = Journal of Southern Medical University
To analyze the correlation of copper death inducer ferredoxin 1 (FDX1) and lipoic acid (LA) with the occurrence and severity of coronary atherosclerosis and explore their roles in coronary heart disease (CHD).We analyzed the data of 226 patients undergoing coronary artery angiography (CAG) in our hospital between October, 2021 and October, 2022 ...
