Ferrocene compounds. XXXVIII. Dimethyl ferrocene-1,1′-dicarboxylate
Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2003In the title compound, [Fe(C(7)H(7)O(2))(2)], the cyclopentadienyl rings and the two attached methoxycarbonyl groups, in an anti arrangement, form an extended pi-conjugated system. The Fe-C distances range from 2.035 (3) to 2.061 (3) A and the average value of the C-C bond lengths in the two cyclopentadienyl rings is 1.419 (5) A.

Here, we address the problem of stabilizing a new helicoid ferrocene. Of course, to obtain a helical complex, it is essential to design suitable organic ligands. The ligands should possess the correct symmetry to match the geometrical requirement of the metal center.

Abstract The synthesis of a wide range of [5]ferrocenophanes has been achieved. The structure and conformation of these compounds are discussed in the light of their spectral properties and compared with the results previously reported for the [3] and [4] series.

Resistance to commercially available antimalarial drugs is a public health problem. Since the end of the last century, no new antimalarial drugs have been introduced into clinical practice, and new drug development has been quite disappointing. There is therefore a real need to develop new class of antimalarial drugs that could be used alone or in ...

Ferrocene-Containing Carbohydrate Dendrimers
Chemistry - A European Journal, 2002Aliphatic amines, incorporating one or three (branched) acylated beta-D-glucopyranosyl residues, were coupled with the acid chloride of ferrocenecarboxylic acid and with the diacid chloride of 1,1'-ferrocenedicarboxylic acid to afford four dendrimer-type, carbohydrate-coated ferrocene derivatives in good yields (54-92%). Deprotection of the peracylated

AbstractFerrocene discovery has significantly influenced the development of chemistry and stimulated the rapid growth of organometallic chemistry. During the seven decades of development, ferrocene penetrated nearly all areas of chemistry and found diverse practical applications as such or in the form of various derivatives.
