Block-Based Mode Decomposition in Few-Mode Fibers

open access: yesPhotonics
A block-based mode decomposition (BMD) algorithm is proposed in this paper, which reduces computational complexity and enhances noise resistance. The BMD uses randomly selected sample blocks of the beam images to restore mode coefficients instead of all ...

Invited paper: Characterization of few mode fibers and devices [PDF]

open access: yesOptical Fiber Technology, 2019
Abstract This paper reviews characterization techniques for few mode fibers and components. The focus is on interferometric techniques including spatial and spectral resolved imaging (S2). Simple interferometric measurements are shown to be able to give quite comprehensive information including measurement of relative group delay.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

High-order-mode Brillouin random fiber laser based on distributed Rayleigh scattering in all-few mode fiber half-open cavity

open access: yesResults in Physics
A high-order-mode (HOM) Brillouin random fiber laser (BRFL) based on distributed Rayleigh scattering in an all-few-mode fiber random cavity is proposed and experimentally demonstrated.

Long distance transmission in few-mode fibers

open access: yesOptics Express, 2010
Using multimode fibers for long-haul transmission is proposed and demonstrated experimentally. In particular few-mode fibers (FMFs) are demonstrated as a good compromise since they are sufficiently resistant to mode coupling compared to standard multimode fibers but they still can have large core diameters compared to single-mode fibers.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Superposing Multiple LP Modes With Microphase Difference Distributed Along Fiber to Generate OAM Mode

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2017
We propose a new method to generate orbital angular momentum (OAM) mode by superposing multiple LP11 modes with microphase difference distributed along fiber propagation. This way, OAM mode can be generated by superposing a series of LP11 mode with phase

Mode-resolved nonlinear absorption characteristics of few-mode fiber-multimode fiber-few-mode fiber structures

open access: yesOptics Express
We report a systematic investigation on the mode-resolved nonlinear absorption characteristics of the few-mode fiber-multimode fiber-few-mode fiber (FMF) structure. Firstly, the transmission formulas of the FMF structure are derived, demonstrating that the transmission is mode-dependent.

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting
