Invited paper: Characterization of few mode fibers and devices [PDF]

open access: yesOptical Fiber Technology, 2019
Abstract This paper reviews characterization techniques for few mode fibers and components. The focus is on interferometric techniques including spatial and spectral resolved imaging (S2). Simple interferometric measurements are shown to be able to give quite comprehensive information including measurement of relative group delay.

Rethinking plastic waste: innovations in enzymatic breakdown of oil‐based polyesters and bioplastics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Plastic pollution remains a critical environmental challenge, and current mechanical and chemical recycling methods are insufficient to achieve a fully circular economy. This review highlights recent breakthroughs in the enzymatic depolymerization of both oil‐derived polyesters and bioplastics, including high‐throughput protein engineering, de novo ...

Modal content in hypocycloid Kagomé hollow core photonic crystal fibers

open access: yes, 2016
The modal content of 7 and 19 cell Kagomé anti resonant hollow core fibers (K-ARF) with hypocycloid core surrounds is experimentally investigated through the spectral and spatial (S2) imaging technique.

KLK7 overexpression promotes an aggressive phenotype and facilitates peritoneal dissemination in colorectal cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KLK7, a tissue kallikrein‐related peptidase, is elevated in advanced colorectal cancer and associated with shorter survival. High KLK7 levels in ascites correlate with peritoneal metastasis. In mice, KLK7 overexpression increases metastasis. In vitro, KLK7 enhances cancer cell proliferation, migration, adhesion, and spheroid formation, driving ...

Influence of Internal Stresses in Few-Mode Fiber on the Thermal Characteristics of Regenerated Gratings

open access: yesPhotonic Sensors, 2019
The pre-treatment of few-mode fibers (FMFs) has been successfully done with CO2 laser. The wavelength difference, Δλ between the two resonant wavelengths in the few-mode fiber Bragg grating (FMFBG) varies with temperature increment during the annealing ...
