Research on the Quality of Fiber-Reinforced Composites

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2018
The paper aims an experimental study of the quality of composite materials based on the coefficient of uniformity, an indicator that appreciates the influence of different factors on their mechanical behavior. For the experiment, composite plates having an epoxy resin matrix and various types of reinforcement were made.

Cotton Breeding for Fiber Quality Improvement

2014
Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) is the world’s leading fiber crop, grown or processed in many countries, providing a major contribution to their economies. Yield is economically most important to a producer which drives cultivar development and adoption; however, fiber quality is the primary focus for spinning mills. Cotton fiber quality must improve to

The quality of cotton fiber : a new challenge

1997
Spinning machinery is increasingly automated and rapid. The resulting fall in processing costs means that the starting material has become the principal component in the yarn cost. In addition, the spinning process and the quality of the finished product are dependent upon the characteristics of the fiber supplied.

Improving the beam quality in LMA fibers

SPIE Proceedings, 2008
The paper presents the results concerning with beam quality improvement by concurrently modifying the index and the doping profile in LMA fibers. Further, the mode effective area is maximized by providing a passive ring in the cladding. The influence of the index profile over the distribution of the optical power among various modes is presented.

Variability of cotton fiber quality

2000
Fiber quality variability is one of the key determinants of the profitability of the cotton crop. As this variability increases, the risk associated with production increases and the expected return decreases. Prior to our studies, variability had been characterized at the field or crop lever.

Analysis of the variability of fiber quality

1997

QUALITY OF MODIFIED FLAX FIBERS

2007
When polycarboxil acid affects cellulose, a chemical modification of molecular and also of super molecular fiber structure occurs, making natural fibers modified in such a way that they become interesting for use in new textiles where they can substitute man-made materials on an equal basis. In this paper a chemical modification of flax fabric has been
