Biphasic Granular Bioinks for Biofabrication of High Cell Density Constructs for Dermal Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a biphasic granular bioink (µInk) that enables 3D bioprinting of high cell density constructs for dermal regeneration. The bioink promotes cell proliferation, ECM deposition, and neovascularization, leading to tissue integration and reduced scar formation in vivo.

Engineering Extracellular Microenvironments: The Impact of Fibrous Materials on Cell Behavior

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Fibrous structures are key elements of the native extracellular matrix and crucial for directing cell behavior. This review discusses how fiber properties such as composition, diameter, and alignment affect cell responses in 2D and 3D systems. Strategies for integrating fibrous cues into engineered tissues are highlighted, and future directions for ...

Fibrin network pattern changes of platelet-rich fibrin in young versus old age group of individuals: A cell block cytology study

open access: yesJournal of Indian Society of Periodontology, 2016
Background: To evaluate variations in fibrin network patterns of the platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) in different age groups. Materials and Methods: Ninety-five patients were divided into three age groups: Group 1: (20–39 years); Group 2: (40–59 years); and ...

Mesoporous Bioactive Glasses: A Powerful Tool in Tissue Engineering and Drug Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work is a comprehensive revision of bioactive glasses (BGs), pioneered by Prof. L.L. Hench, which are key in bone repair and regenerative medicine. Sol–gel methods and mesoporous designs enhanced their bioactivity, ions, and drug delivery. BGs now support gene therapy and 3D‐printed scaffolds, enabling personalized, multifunctional treatments in ...

A CCR2 macrophage endocytic pathway mediates extravascular fibrin clearance in vivo.

open access: yesBlood, 2016
Extravascular fibrin deposition accompanies many human diseases and causes chronic inflammation and organ damage, unless removed in a timely manner. Here, we used intravital microscopy to investigate how fibrin is removed from extravascular space. Fibrin

Mechanical Reinforced and Self‐healing Hydrogels: Bioprinted Biomimetic Methacrylated Collagen Peptide‐Xanthan Gum Constructs for Ligament Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Readily UV‐curing and self‐healing methacrylated collagen peptide (COPMA) hydrogels are developed with tunable mechanical properties. As the interpenetrating network between COPMA and xanthan gum (XG), COPMA‐XG bioinks show improved mechanical properties, printability, and stability, compared to COPMA or XG.

Fibrin fixes fibrosis [PDF]

open access: yesBlood, 2016
In this issue of Blood , Joshi et al demonstrate that the interaction between fibrin and α M β 2 on leukocytes reduces the development of liver fibrosis in a mouse model of cholestatic injury ...
