CYP2C19 genotype testing for clopidogrel: A guideline developed by the UK Centre of Excellence in Regulatory Science and Innovation in Pharmacogenomics (CERSI‐PGx)

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, Volume 92, Issue 2, Page 329-347, February 2026.
Clopidogrel, an antiplatelet agent, is currently licensed in the United Kingdom for the prevention and treatment of atherothrombotic events in cerebrovascular disease, coronary artery disease and peripheral arterial disease. Clopidogrel requires metabolic activation by the cytochrome P450 enzyme CYP2C19 to be effective.

Production and properties of a fibrinolytic enzyme by Schizophyllum commune BL23 [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2008
Schizophyllum commune BL23 was cultivated for the production of a fibrinolytic enzyme under submerged cultureconditions. Maximum growth (8.93 g/l) with fibrinolytic enzyme activity (576.73 units) was achieved when S.

Extensive Intracerebral Hemorrhage Involving Basal Ganglia and Frontal Lobe With Intraventricular and Subarachnoid Extension in a Triplet Pregnancy Following In Vitro Fertilization: A Case Report and Review

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Triplet births, particularly those achieved by assisted reproductive technologies, entail markedly elevated maternal and fetal risks, including hypertensive diseases. Intracerebral hemorrhage is an uncommon but devastating complication during the postpartum period.

Managing Primary Immunodeficiency Immunoglobulin Replacement Therapy‐Related Adverse Events With Recombinant Human C1 Esterase Inhibitor Prophylaxis: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Immunoglobulin replacement therapy (IRT) for primary immunodeficiency reduces infection risk and subsequent complications and can be lifesaving. However, IRT can cause severe systemic adverse events (AEs) that may limit adequate dosing. These AEs may be caused, in part, by activation and/or consumption of complement proteins, thereby lowering ...

Fibrinolytic Enzymes from Medicinal Mushrooms

open access: yes, 2012
Mushrooms, a special group of macrofungi, are not plants and thus do not use photosynthesis for nutrient acquisition. Mushrooms are fleshy, have the spore-bearing fruiting body of fungi, and typically grow above ground on soil, or other food sources. Most mushrooms are Basidiomycota or Agaricomycetes. The fruiting body of mushrooms is an important food

A Case of Factor XIII Deficiency Identified by Recurrent Postoperative Bleeding After Tonsillectomy

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Postoperative bleeding is a well‐known complication of tonsillectomy. Although inadequate hemostasis and vascular injury are common causes, occult coagulation disorders may also contribute. Factor XIII deficiency is an extremely rare condition that is particularly difficult to detect preoperatively because PT and APTT typically remain normal ...

Ultrasound stimulated production of a fibrinolytic enzyme

open access: yesUltrasonics Sonochemistry, 2014
The present study is aimed at enhanced production of a fibrinolytic enzyme from Bacillus sphaericus MTCC 3672 under ultrasonic stimulation. Various process parameters viz; irradiation at different growth phases, ultrasonication power, irradiation duration, duty cycle and multiple irradiation were studied for enhancement of fibrinolytic enzyme ...

Effects of immune checkpoint inhibitors on the pulmonary circulation in lung cancer patients

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 158, Issue 3, Page 682-696, 1 February 2026.
What's new? Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are effective against various cancers, but as more patients receive these therapies, more immune‐related adverse events (irAEs) emerge. Recent studies have suggested that ICIs are associated with an increase in pulmonary artery diameter and the ratio between pulmonary artery diameter and aortic diameter ...
