Effect of cupuassu butter on human skin cells

open access: yesData in Brief, 2018
This study investigated the effect of cupuassu butter on the cell number of human skin fibroblasts, as well as the gene expression profiles of certain growth factors in these fibroblasts.

Analysis of Thisbe and Pyramus functional domains reveals evidence for cleavage of Drosophila FGFs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Background: As important regulators of developmental and adult processes in metazoans, Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF) proteins are potent signaling molecules whose activities must be tightly regulated.

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

A proteomic atlas of senescence-associated secretomes for aging biomarker development. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP) has recently emerged as a driver of and promising therapeutic target for multiple age-related conditions, ranging from neurodegeneration to cancer.

Fibroblast Growth Factor 6

open access: yesDifferentiation
Fibroblast Growth Factor 6 (FGF6), also referred to as HST2 or HBGF6, is a member of the Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF), the Heparin Binding Growth Factor (HBGF) and the Heparin Binding Secretory Transforming Gene (HST) families. The genomic and protein structure of FGF6 is highly conserved among varied species, as is its expression in muscle and ...

Fibroblast growth enhancing activity of tumor necrosis factor and its relationship to other polypeptide growth factors

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Medicine, 1986
Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) is a monocyte-derived protein cytotoxic or cytostatic for some tumor cell lines. Here we show that highly purified E. coli-derived recombinant human TNF stimulated the growth of human FS- 4 diploid fibroblasts.

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

Differential regulation of metalloproteinase production, proliferation and chemotaxis of human lung fibroblasts by PDGF, Interleukin-1β and TNF-α

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, 2000
Fibroblast migration, proliferation, extracellular matrix protein synthesis and degradation, all of which play important roles in inflammation, are them selves induced by various growth factors and cytokines.

Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF) Receptor Mutations: A Pathway to Understanding Multigenic Risk in Disease?

open access: yesInternational Journal of Medical Students, 2013
Fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) gain-of-function mutations form the pathogenic basis of multiple congenital pathologies. A pioneering body of work over the past two decades has established that a unique mutation selection process within the ...
