Quantum random number generation for 1.25 GHz quantum key distribution systems
Security proofs of quantum key distribution (QKD) systems usually assume that the users have access to source of perfect randomness. State-of-the-art QKD systems run at frequencies in the GHz range, requiring a sustained GHz rate of generation and ...

Neuromorphic Denoising with Fully Analog Memristive In‐Memory Computing
This article borrows the concepts of episodic memory in human brains to experimentally implement a memristor‐based neuromorphic denoising process. A homogeneous memristor processing unit is experimentally demonstrated for both temporal storage and neural network computation, imitating the synapses in the human brain.

Ultra‐High‐Efficiency On‐Chip CO2 Conversion by Nanosecond Self‐Pulsing Micro‐Plasma Devices
A micro‐plasma chip with sub‐10‐μm electrode gaps is introduced for efficient CO2‐to‐CO conversion. The device self‐converts a DC power supply into nanosecond pulses, producing field‐emission electrons that vibrationally excite CO2, driving dissociation via the ladder‐climbing mechanism. A scaled‐up chip array achieves 30% single‐pass conversion and 50%

Edge Detection on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)
Edges are significant local changes in the image and are very important features for analysing images. Edges typically occur on the boundary between two different regions in an image. An edge in an image is a significant local change in the image intensity, usually associated with a discontinuity in either the image intensity or the first derivative of

Walsh function generator for the Electronically Scanned Thinned Array Radiometer (ESTAR) instrument [PDF]
A prototype Walsh Function Generator (WFG) for the ESTAR (Electronically Scanned Thinned Array Radiometer) instrument has been designed and tested. Implemented in a single Xilinx XC3020PC68-50 Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), it generates a user ...

An adaptive fuzzy controller using an interval type‐3 fuzzy logic system replaces the SMC switching term to mitigate chattering while preserving global stability for islanded inverters. Simulations show lower THD, greater robustness to disturbances and parameter variations, and improved voltage‐tracking accuracy, with applicability to other uncertain ...

A compact and low insertion loss programmable photonic circuit is demonstrated based on a 7‐cell hexagonal waveguide mesh with a large free spectral range (FSR) of 31 GHz for a 6‐gate ring resonator configuration. Vernier rings and a dual‐injected ring configuration are demonstrated on this circuit with a further improved FSR of 93 GHz.

Fuzzy Logic for Improvement PID Control in D.C. Motor Speed [PDF]
The paper presents a new strategy of making software modules with fuzzy control. It is the best solution for implementing complex applications. Dynamic control today takes place in discrete time and discrete values. Concurrently, it is desirable that the
