Speed control for field-weakened induction motor drive
IEE Proceedings - Electric Power Applications, 2005The speed control of a field-weakened (FW) indirect field-oriented (IFO) induction motor drive with compensations for system dead-time and parameter variations is presented. Firstly, the DSP-based motor drive with a field-weakening mechanism is designed.

PMSM Model Predictive Control With Field-Weakening Implementation
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2016Permanent-magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) drives have become popular for motion control applications due to their performance and high torque-to-weight ratio. The complex task of PMSM control in high-performance applications is currently usually resolved with classical vector control.

Field weakening in PMSM model based predictive control
2010 IEEE International Conference on Power and Energy, 2010Drives based on permanent magnet synchronous machines become more and more popular in many industrial applications. In most application traditional control algorithms are used leading to problems with the drive operation optimization. The paper presents a method of field weakening implementation in model based predictive control scheme.

Enhanced Explosive Motion for Torque Controlled Actuators Through Field Weakening Control
2018 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS), 2018This work presents a method to increase the peak output speed of surface permanent magnet synchronous machine (SPMSM) motor drives with application in robotics using field weakening control. Contrary to most existing works, the strategy is stateless and operates using only a motor torque reference as input, making it suitable for robotics applications ...

Field weakening optimal control of DC motor drive systems
2013 4th International Symposium on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ISEEE), 2013This paper presents an energy saving control for the field weakening DC drives. The system model is liniarized and optimal control technique is applied, in order to enhance the DC drive efficiency in the high speed dynamical regimes. The proposed solution is tested and experimental results are presented.

Linear control of DC motor drive with field weakening
2010 3rd International Symposium on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ISEEE), 2010This paper considers a linear control design of separately excited DC motor system (SEDCM) operated in the field weakening high speed regime. Nonlinear multiple input — multiple output (MIMO) feedback linearization is applied and a linear controller schema is proposed.

Field weakening implementation in AC induction machine predictive control
2011 IEEE Ninth International Conference on Power Electronics and Drive Systems, 2011AC induction motors become very popular for motion control applications due to their simple and reliable construction. Control of drives based on AC induction motors is a quite complex task. In most high-performance applications classical vector control is currently used.

Control of induction motors in the field weakening region
Proceedings of 1995 34th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2002In this paper we extend the results on observerless passivity-based control of induction motors reported by Espinosa-Ortega (1994) and Ortega et al. (1995) to include the case of rotor flux norm tracking. This extension from regulation to tracking of rotor flux norm is important for practical implementation problems of the controllers where inverter ...

Control System with Field Weakening of Synchronous Motor Drive
2020 IEEE Problems of Automated Electrodrive. Theory and Practice (PAEP), 2020Improving of dynamic performance of a control system of a synchronous drive with field weakening is shown. The controllers of the angular speed of the rotor of a synchronous machine, d and q components of the stator current of the control system have synthesized using the concept of inverse dynamics problems and minimization of local functionalities in

Field-weakening method for v/f -controlled hoist drive
2011 IEEE International Electric Machines & Drives Conference (IEMDC), 2011This paper presents a field-weakening control method for V/f-controlled hoist drives. The method is based on the power limitation, which enables a load-dependent maximum speed without load measurement. In order to avoid the pull-out point of the hoist motor, the acceleration is halted if the motor input power exceeds a predefined limit. In addition, an
