Field-weakening in vector controlled and DTC PMSM drives, a comparative analysis
8th International Conference on Power Electronics and Variable Speed Drives, 2000The present paper gives a comparative analysis of field-weakening in vector controlled and direct torque control (DTC) permanent magnet synchronous motor drives. For this purpose, the fundamentals of these drives are discussed. The results of extensive simulations and a comprehensive set of experiments are given.

Current Control of Induction Machines in the Field-Weakened Region
IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2006This paper presents a novel current regulation algorithm for induction machines that enables smooth operation and maximum torque-per-ampere capability over the entire field-weakened region. The algorithm enables robust current regulation with maximum torque capability despite significant variation in voltage source and machine parameters. The algorithm

Nonlinear predictive controller design of PMSM with field weakening performance
IECON 2013 - 39th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2013Model predictive control is a modern method which was used in many different applications. One of the applications are electrical machines. Designing a controller for a synchronous drive has proven itself to be a challenging task. Many authors try to substitute one or more controllers in the cascade structure.

Gain scheduling control of DC motor drive with field weakening
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 1996A new adaptive control system for a DC motor drive with field weakening is proposed. The adaptation mechanism is based on the gain scheduling. A deep knowledge of the phenomena in the drive was necessary to define the scheduled variables that capture the essential nonlinearities of the process considered.

Speed nonlinear control of DC motor drive with field weakening
Conference Record of the 2001 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. 36th IAS Annual Meeting (Cat. No.01CH37248), 2002In this paper, the authors show that it is feasible to apply nonlinear multiple-input multiple-output feedback linearization technique to a separately excited DC motor system that is operated in the high-speed field-weakening regime. Load-adaptive and sensorless control techniques to improve dynamic speed performance are proposed and compared.

Nonlinear field weakening controller of a separately excited DC motor
Proceedings of EMPD '98. 1998 International Conference on Energy Management and Power Delivery (Cat. No.98EX137), 2002A new nonlinear field weakening controller has been proposed for speed tracking control of a separately excited DC motor drive. Input output feedback linearization technique is used to handle the nonlinearities in the field weakening operation. The motor is controlled by actuating two inputs of armature voltage and field voltage to achieve high dynamic

Field-weakening Control of PMBM Based on Instantaneous Power Theory
2006 IEEE International Conference on Vehicular Electronics and Safety, 2006Since high density permanent magnet brushless motor (PMBM) used in electric vehicle (EV) takes the specialty of permanent magnet synchronism motor (PMSM) in high speed range and brushless DC motor (BLDC) in low speed range, there are similar trapeziform back EMF in PMBM. To complete real-time and reliable control for EV, it is impossible to use complex

Nonlinear MIMO Speed Sensorless Controller for DC Motor Field Weakening
Electric Machines & Power Systems, 2000This paper addresses speed control of a separately excited DC motor (SEDCM) in nonlinear field weakening region. Input output linearization (IOL) technique is used to deal with the motor system with considerable nonlinearity, and a nonlinear multi-input multi-output (MIMO) speed tracking controller is developed for constant power field weakening.
