MTPA and Field Weakening Control of Synchronous Reluctance motor

2016 9th International Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (ICECE), 2016
An improved algorithm for MTPA (Maximum Torque Per Ampere) and Field Weakening operation which is suitable for implementation with Field Oriented Control, has been proposed for the Synchronous Reluctance motor (SynRel) for high dynamic performance. The proposed method overcomes the problem of excessive current flow into the machine while generating the

Maximum Torque Control of IPMSM Drive with Field Weakening Control

Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, 2005
Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) has become a popular choice in electric vehicle applications, due to their excellent power to weight ratio. The paper is posed maximum torque control of IPMSM for high speed drive. The control method is applicable over the entire speed range and considered the limits of the inverter`s current and ...

A robust field-weakening control strategy for IPMSM drives

The 2010 International Power Electronics Conference - ECCE ASIA -, 2010
In this paper, a robust field-weakening control strategy for IPMSM drives is proposed to achieve fast response and minimum copper loss. First, the classification of three operation regions for positive speed operation is adopted. It is seen that current limit and voltage limit will affect the maximum torque capability and minimum copper loss operation.

Control of Variable Flux Reluctance Motor in Field Weakening Region

2021 International Aegean Conference on Electrical Machines and Power Electronics (ACEMP) & 2021 International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM), 2021
In this paper, the operating point of variable flux reluctance motors (VFRMs) using voltage and current limits in the field weakening region is investigated. The voltage and current limits of VFRM, which depend on the current capacity of the inverter and the voltage limit of the inverter, are investigated by using MATLAB/Simulink. The d-axis and q-axis

Field-weakening control for an IFO induction motor drive

2002 IEEE Region 10 Conference on Computers, Communications, Control and Power Engineering. TENCOM '02. Proceedings., 2003
The transient performance improvement for an indirect field-oriented (IFO) induction motor drive with field-weakening is studied in this paper. In the proposed method, the saturation effect of magnetizing inductance is considered by representing it using a fitted quadratic polynomial of flux current. The flux current command is composed of three parts,

Current Control for SPMSM in Field-Weakening Region Based on Final-State Control

IEEJ Transactions on Industry Applications, 2012
SUMMARYSPMSMs (surface permanent magnet synchronous motors) are employed for many industrial applications. SPMSM drive systems should realize a quick torque response and have a wide operating range. For quick current response in the field‐weakening region, a new current control based on final‐state control (FSC) is proposed in this study.

Optimum-seeking field weakening control of induction motor drives

8th International Conference on Power Electronics and Variable Speed Drives, 2000
The optimum-seeking (in the sense of maximisation of torque) field weakening control scheme proposed by Kim and Sul (see IEEE Trans. Ind. Electron., vol. 44, no.4, p.512-18, 1997) is developed further. The performance under imperfect field orientation conditions is investigated, and it is shown that an overestimated-rather than an under-estimated-model

Induction motor torque control in field weakening regime by voltage angle control

Proceedings of 14th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference EPE-PEMC 2010, 2010
This paper presents a novel algorithm for the induction motor torque control in field weakening region. Proposed method insures maximum DC bus utilization and offers DTC performance through the stator voltage angle control. The algorithm is simple, without the outer flux loop nor the inner current loop.

Fuzzy Single-Current Field Weakening Control of IPMSM in EV

2022
Under complex driving conditions, the driving speed of pure electric vehicles changes frequently, and there is no mathematical law to follow. Bad working conditions will lead to the change of the driving motor parameters. Conventional motor control PI regulator parameters are fixed and cannot be adjusted in real time in accordance with the vehicle ...
