Field-oriented control induction machine and control by sliding mode

Simulation Modelling Practice and Theory, 1997
Abstract This paper deals with the implementation of an “optimal” field oriented control on an induction machine. In a first step, an optimal control law is applied, which minimizes the time, to establish the required flux for a field oriented control.

The universal field oriented controller

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1994
This paper synthesizes and develops a universal field oriented (UFO) controller for induction machines. The UFO controller decouples flux and torque in an arbitrary flux reference frame. Due to its high degree of generality the UFO controller lends itself to be fully compatible with all existing field oriented controllers, indirect as well as direct ...

SERVICE-ORIENTED ARCHITECTURE FOR FIELD CONTROL DEVICES

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2006
Abstract The concept of Service-Oriented Architecture has become more and more important in the last few years in several technological fields and is beginning to play an important role also in the industrial automation field. The paper presents the application of this paradigm to field control devices of a flexible manufacturing system.

Indirect Field Oriented Control for Induction Motor

2011 Fourth International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering & Technology, 2011
Indirect Field Oriented Control (IFOC) is known to produce high performance in induction Motor (IM) drives by decoupling rotor flux and torque producing current components of stator current. The decoupling control between the rotor flux and the torque is no longer achieved in terms of stator current components this paper introduces a decoupled rotor ...

Fuzzy supervisory control of field oriented controlled AC drives

Proceedings of the 2002 American Control Conference (IEEE Cat. No.CH37301), 2002
The problem of setting an optimum flux reference for indirect vector controlled induction motors is addressed. The flux reference is generated using a fuzzy logic supervisor (FLS) which minimizes the power input to the motor in steady-state speed operations. The FLS is based on a simple search method.

Bifurcation Control and Complex Dynamics in Field-Oriented Control of a PMSM

Journal of Circuits, Systems and Computers, 2019
The general purpose of this paper is to develop new aspects of bifurcation structures in a 3D parametric space. Identification of generic bifurcation structures in former studies was based on the arrangement of bifurcation curves in the parameter plane.

Comparing the indirect field-oriented-control with a scalar method

Proceedings IECON '91: 1991 International Conference on Industrial Electronics, Control and Instrumentation, 1994
Two methods of induction motor control are examined. The indirect field-oriented (IFO) and the slip-control (SC) methods are formally compared. Their block diagrams are derived, analyzed and their similarities shown. It is demonstrated that the difference between the two is just due to a feedforward block that computes the current phase to be supplied ...

An alternative strategy for field oriented control

2006 American Control Conference, 2006
A new control strategy based on optimal control theory is developed in this paper and applied to an induction motor drive. The distinguished feature of the proposed control design is that it achieves the same performances as the field oriented control without the need for heavy and expensive gain tuning.
