Testing symmetries in effective models of higher derivative field theories
Higher derivative field theories with interactions raise serious doubts about their validity due to severe energy instabilities. In many cases the implementation of a direct perturbation treatment to excise the dangerous negative-energies from a higher ...

We propose a context‐dependent model where the Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) gene acts as a tumour suppressor in aggressive tumours and as an oncogene in less aggressive ones. We propose this model as a unified framework to explain the opposing survival associations with DMD expression and to guide experimental exploration of the dual role of DMD ...

Endpoint contributions to excited-state modular Hamiltonians
We compute modular Hamiltonians for excited states obtained by perturbing the vacuum with a unitary operator. We use operator methods and work to first order in the strength of the perturbation.

A conformal dispersion relation: correlations from absorption
We introduce the analog of Kramers-Kronig dispersion relations for correlators of four scalar operators in an arbitrary conformal field theory. The correlator is expressed as an integral over its “absorptive part”, defined as a double discontinuity ...

Topological self-dual vacua of deformed gauge theories
We propose a deformation principle of gauge theories in three dimensions that can describe topologically stable self-dual gauge fields, i.e., vacua configurations that in spite of their masses do not deform the background geometry and are locally ...

Diffusion‐based size determination of solute particles: a method adapted for postsynaptic proteins
We present a diffusion‐based approach for measuring the size of macromolecules and their complexes, and demonstrate its use on postsynaptic proteins. The method requires fluorescein‐labelled protein samples, a microfluidic device that maintains laminar flow for said samples, a microscope recording the emitted fluorescent signals, and an analytic ...

Supersymmetry and $T \overline{T}$ Deformations
We propose a manifestly supersymmetric generalization of the solvable $T \overline{T}$ deformation of two-dimensional field theories. For theories with $(1,1)$ and $(0,1)$ supersymmetry, the deformation is defined by adding a term to the superspace ...

Here, we introduced an intermittent electrical stimulation protocol mimicking the episodic nature of real‐life exercise in vitro by alternating low‐ and high‐frequency stimulation. In comparison with widely used continuous stimulation, it enhanced the rate of glucose and fatty acid oxidation, but not the myokine release.

Some exact solutions for maximally symmetric topological defects in Anti de Sitter space
We obtain exact analytical solutions for a class of SO(l) Higgs field theories in a non-dynamic background n-dimensional anti de Sitter space. These finite transverse energy solutions are maximally symmetric p-dimensional topological defects where n = (p

Thermal CFTs in momentum space
We study some aspects of conformal field theories at finite temperature in momentum space. We provide a formula for the Fourier transform of a thermal conformal block and study its analytic properties.
