Structure Constants for New Infinite-Dimensional Lie Algebras of U(N+,N-) Tensor Operators and Applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The structure constants for Moyal brackets of an infinite basis of functions on the algebraic manifolds M of pseudo-unitary groups U(N_+,N_-) are provided. They generalize the Virasoro and W_\infty algebras to higher dimensions.

Light-front higher-spin theories in flat space [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We revisit the problem of interactions of higher-spin fields in flat space. We argue that all no-go theorems can be avoided by the light-cone approach, which results in more interaction vertices as compared to the usual covariant approaches.

Index Theory for Short-Ranged Fields in Higher Dimensions

open access: yesJournal of Functional Analysis, 1994
Let \(M\) be a noncompact Riemannian spin manifold of even dimension with a warped end. This means that there exist a compact Riemannian manifold \((N,d\sigma)\) and a compact set \(K_ 0 \subset M\) such that \(M\setminus K_ 0\) is isometric to the product \((0,\infty) \times N\) which is equipped with the warped product metric \(dr^ 2 + f^ 2(r) d ...

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Irreversibility in quantum field theories with boundaries [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We study conformal field theories with boundaries, and their boundary renormalization group (RG) flows, using methods from quantum information theory. Positivity of the relative entropy, together with unitarity and Lorentz invariance, give rise to bounds

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Discrete gauging in six dimensions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
When n M5 branes coincide on an A type singularity, ℂ2 /ℤ k , there is a multitude of tensionless strings which arise in the spectrum. The low energy theory when all M5 branes are separated at the singularity is given by a linear quiver with parameters n

Towards metric-like higher spin gauge theories in three dimensions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We consider the coupling of a symmetric spin-3 gauge field φμνρ to three-dimensional gravity in a second-order metric-like formulation. The action that corresponds to an SL(3,R)×SL(3,R)?> Chern–Simons theory in the frame-like formulation is identified to

Topological dualities in the Ising model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We relate two classical dualities in low-dimensional quantum field theory: Kramers-Wannier duality of the Ising and related lattice models in $2$ dimensions, with electromagnetic duality for finite gauge theories in $3$ dimensions.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
