Supergranular-scale magnetic flux emergence beneath an unstable filament [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Here we report evidence of a large solar filament eruption on 2013, September 29. This smooth eruption, which passed without any previous flare, formed after a two-ribbon flare and a coronal mass ejection towards Earth.

THE MYOSIN FILAMENT [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Cell Biology, 1972
The subunit organization of the myosin filament of chicken striated muscle has been observed directly in cross-sections in electron microscopy. The organization consists of three centrally located and nine peripherally located subunits in a close-packed arrangement.

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

H$_2$ Emission Nebulosity Associated with KH 15D

open access: yes, 2004
An H$_2$ emission filament is found in close proximity to the unique object KH 15D using the adaptive optics system of the Subaru Telescope. The morphology of the filament, the presence of spectroscopic outflow signatures observed by Hamilton et al., and

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

A closed form solution for the proximity effect in a thin tubular conductor influenced by a parallel filament [PDF]

open access: yesSerbian Journal of Electrical Engineering, 2010
The present paper deals with the proximity effect in a system consisting of a thin tubular conductor and a filament. The integral equation for the current density in the tubular conductor is solved by assuming a solution in the form of an infinite ...

An active region filament studied simultaneously in the chromosphere and photosphere: I - Magnetic structure

open access: yes, 2011
A thorough multiwavelength, multiheight study of the vector magnetic field in a compact active region (AR) filament (NOAA10781) is presented. We suggest an evolutionary scenario for this filament.

A filamentous trio

open access: yesMonaldi Archives for Chest Disease, 2020
Opportunistic infections caused by fungi and unusual bacteria are predominantly encountered in the setting of immunosuppressed host. Co-infections with multiple such organisms can pose multiple challenges even to the astute clinician from establishing the diagnosis to drug interactions during treatment of such infections.
