Soft Computing, 2007
The paper continues the work started by \textit{M. Haveshki, A. Borumand Saeid} and \textit{E. Eslami} [Soft Comput. 10, No.~8, 657--664 (2006); erratum ibid. 11, No.~2, 209 (2007; Zbl 1103.03062)] on various kinds of filters in BL-algebras, namely on (positive) implicative and fantastic filters.

A Theory for the Christiansen Filter
Applied Optics, 1968Multiple scattering theory is applied to investigate the filter shape and bandwidth of the Christiansen filter which consists of a suspension of particles in a liquid such that the refractive index vs wavelength curves of the particles and the liquid intersect at a particular wavelength.

A theory of adaptive filtering
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1966This paper considers the adaptive signal extraction problem for time-discrete data when only very general a priori assumptions regarding the distributions of signal and noise are possible. Specifically, it is assumed that the noise is white, additive, and signal independent with mean zero and unknown variance and that the signal is band-limited.

We introduce the fundamentals of cyclic multirate systems and filter banks and present a number of important differences between the cyclic and noncyclic (traditional) cases. Some of the additional freedom offered by cyclic systems is pointed out, and a number of open issues are summarized.

Bilateral Filtering: Theory and Applications
Foundations and Trends® in Computer Graphics and Vision, 2009The bilateral filter is a non-linear technique that can blur an image while respecting strong edges. Its ability to decompose an image into different scales without causing haloes after modification has made it ubiquitous in computational photography applications such as tone mapping, style transfer, relighting, and denoising.

On filter theory of residuated lattices
Information Sciences, 2010The authors study filters, Boolean filters (implicative filters), G-filters (positive implicative filters), MV-filters (fantastic filters) and also the corresponding fuzzy filters, fuzzy Boolean filters (fuzzy implicative filters), fuzzy G-filters (fuzzy positive implicative filters), fuzzy MV-filters (fuzzy fantastic filters) of a residuated lattice ...

Set theory with a filter quantifier
Journal of Symbolic Logic, 1983The incompleteness of ZF set theory leads one to look for natural extensions of ZF in which one can prove statements independent of ZF which appear to be “true”. One approach has been to add large cardinal axioms. Or, one can investigate second-order expansions like Kelley-Morse class theory, KM.

Steerable filters and invariance theory
Pattern Recognition Letters, 1994Summary: The problem of finding a steering equation for oriented linear filters is treated with cartesian tensor calculus. We derive a general form for steerable filters and present a simple scheme to construct the steering equation with a minimum number of basis filters.
