Systematic Review of Climate Change Impacts on Ethiopia's Food Systems: Risk and Vulnerability Assessment

open access: yesPlant-Environment Interactions, Volume 7, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Climate change is a major driver of food insecurity in Ethiopia, affecting agricultural productivity, water availability, and rural livelihoods. The country's reliance on rain‐fed agriculture increases its vulnerability to climate‐related hazards, underscoring the need to synthesize existing evidence on climate risks and food system ...

Eco‐Evolutionary Feedback to a Pesticide Worsens the Impact of a Pesticide Switch in a Pivotal Freshwater Non‐Target Species

open access: yesEcology Letters, Volume 29, Issue 10, October 2026.
Selection under the insecticide chlorpyrifos strongly affected the genetic makeup of non‐target Daphnia magna populations and increased tolerance of chlorpyrifos‐selected populations to chlorpyrifos and malathion (same mode of action as chlorpyrifos) but reduced performance when exposed to deltamethrin (different mode of action from chlorpyrifos).

Temperature Dependent Hydration Kinetics of Finger Millet (Eleusine coracana) and Foxtail Millet (Setaria italica) Grains [PDF]

open access: yes
Hydration kinetics of finger millet (Eleusine coracana) and foxtail millet (Setaria italica) grains were studied at temperatures between 30 - 70°C by estimating moisture contents at different durations of soaking.

Insights Into the Origin and Local Adaptation Evolution of the Cultivated Sesame With Telomere‐to‐Telomere High‐Quality Genome

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 10, Page 5372-5391, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Sesame (Sesamum indicum L., 2n = 26) is one of the oldest oilseed crops and is often called the ‘queen of oilseeds’ due to its high content of unsaturated fatty acids and natural antioxidants. Despite its long history, the origin and global spread of cultivated sesame remain unresolved.

Mechanisms regulating cerebral perfusion during running exercise: Influence of foot strike‐induced pulsatility oscillations, CO2 reactivity and BP

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 604, Issue 20, Page 8501-8522, 15 October 2026.
Abstract figure legend Young, healthy males and females completed an incremental running test, demonstrating a progressive increase in middle cerebral artery blood velocity (MCAv) up to maximal exercise despite reductions in end‐tidal CO2. To investigate the underlying mechanism, foot‐strike timing was synchronized to the diastolic phase of the cardiac
