Optimal amplification of streamwise streaks in plane jets and their stabilizing effect on the inflectional instability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Optimal transient energy growths supported by the plane Bickley jet are computed for a set of spanwise wavenumbers and Reynolds numbers. It is shown that the maximum energy amplification is proportional to the square of the Reynolds number.

Analyzing Electronic Excitations and Exciton Binding Energies in Y6 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The Y6 molecule is used for increasing the efficiency of organic solar cells. The exciton binding energy is calculated for ensembles of Y6 molecules that are representative of the typically used films. The calculations show that the excitons typically spread out over many molecules.

Position Controller for PMSM Based on Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control

open access: yesElektronika ir Elektrotechnika, 2016
The paper presents the position control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor by using the finite control set model predictive control. The position, speed and acceleration references are generated by a ramp generator. A new cost function, including feed-forward and load torque compensations, is introduced. In order to save the computational power, a

Enhancing Optoelectronic Properties in Phthalocyanine‐Based SURMOFs: Synthesis of ABAB Linkers by Avoiding Statistical Condensation with Tailored Building Blocks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel phthalocyanine (PC)‐based metal–organic framework (MOFs) is synthesized using ditopic PC linkers obtained through regioselective statistical condensation. The resulting MOF exhibits significant improvements in electronic absorption, thereby enhancing the material's performance in light harvesting and energy conversion.

New Approaches in Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control for Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Inverters: State of the Art

open access: yesSolar
Grid-connected PV inverters require sophisticated control procedures for smooth integration with the modern electrical grid. The ability of FCS-MPC to manage the discrete character of power electronic devices is highly acknowledged, since it enables ...

Approximation of the set of trajectories of the nonlinear control system with limited control resources

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2018
In this paper the control system described by a Urysohn type integral equation is studied. It is assumed that the control functions have integral constraint.

A Novel Hybrid Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control Scheme With Reduced Switching

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2014
This work presents a new control scheme based on a finite states Model Predictive Control aimed to fix the switching frequency and to reduce the spectrum dispersion on the output variables of pulse width modulation (PWM) static converters. These topics are particularly important in the operation of power converters where passive filters present ...

A set oriented approach to global optimal control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We describe an algorithm for computing the value function for 'all source, single destination' discrete-time nonlinear optimal control problems together with approximations of associated globally optimal control strategies.

Photoswitchable Conductive Metal–Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A conductive material where the conductivity can be modulated remotely by irradiation with light is presented. It is based on films of conductive metal–organic framework type Cu3(HHTP)2 with embedded photochromic molecules such as azobenzene, diarylethene, spiropyran, and hexaarylbiimidazole in the pores.
