A review of finite control set model predictive control for linear machines
Linear machines (LMs) have become excellent candidates for linear motion applications due to their abilities of generating thrust without any transmissions, and have been widely adopted in transportation, industries etc.

Stochastic Stability Analysis of Discrete Time System Using Lyapunov Measure
In this paper, we study the stability problem of a stochastic, nonlinear, discrete-time system. We introduce a linear transfer operator-based Lyapunov measure as a new tool for stability verification of stochastic systems.

High-Speed Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control for Power Electronics [PDF]
Common approaches for direct model predictive control (MPC) for current reference tracking in power electronics suffer from the high computational complexity encountered when solving integer optimal control problems over long prediction horizons. We propose an efficient alternative method based on approximate dynamic programming, greatly reducing the ...

A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Risk-Sensitive Optimal Control of Queues
We consider the problem of designing risk-sensitive optimal control policies for scheduling packet transmissions in a stochastic wireless network. A single client is connected to an access point (AP) through a wireless channel. Packet transmission incurs

Nonlinear control by a finite set of motion primitives
Abstract We present a new control paradigm inspired by recent experiments on the central nervous system of frogs and rats. This paradigm consists in writing the control variable as a linear combination of a finite number of basic controllers, called motion primitives. The system is then controlled through the combinators.

Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...
