Modelling drawbeads with finite elements and verification [PDF]
Drawbeads are commonly used in deep drawing processes to control the flow of the blank during the forming operation. In finite element simulations of deep drawing the drawbead geometries are seldom included because of the small radii; because of these ...

Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Unbounded Viscosity Solutions of Hybrid Control Systems [PDF]
We study a hybrid control system in which both discrete and continuous controls are involved. The discrete controls act on the system at a given set interface.

This study presents a reversible temperature sensor with high switching ratio, ∼103. The device is fabricated using PET‐ITO and carbon nanotube dispersions in alkane. Considering its application in cold chain logistics, a proof‐of‐concept with LED is showcased. Thus, a temperature drop below the threshold temperature (crystallization temperature of the

A finite control set model predictive control based hybrid PWM technique
Hybrid Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) techniques select the appropriate PWM sequence that induces either less current distortion or less switching losses or both. The sequence selection is usually based on an off-line sector partitioning. This simple solution freezes unfortunately the design and prevents any on-line evolution.

Control of Large Swarms via Random Finite Set Theory [PDF]
Controlling large swarms of robotic agents has many challenges including, but not limited to, computational complexity due to the number of agents, uncertainty in the functionality of each agent in the swarm, and uncertainty in the swarm's configuration.

Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.
