A novel first-order shear deformation theory for laminated composite plates

In the present study, a new simple first-order shear deformation theory is presented for laminated composite plates. Moreover, the number of unknowns of this theory is the least one comparing with the traditional first-order and the other higher-order shear deformation theories.

On the refined first-order shear deformation plate theory of Kármán type

A large deflection theory for laminated plates is set up taking into account transverse shear rotations. Each shear strain component is assumed to depend on the corresponding shear force only, and the shear correction factors are set equal for both directions.

Laminated composite open profile sections: first order shear deformation theory

This paper presents a Vlasov type modified first order shear deformation theory to analyze the dynamic response of open-profile sections made of laminated composite materials. A variational mathematical approach is adopted to derive all the necessary field equations in two dimensions for sections subjected to non-uniform torsion.
