Analysis of functionally graded beam using a new first-order shear deformation theory
Structural Engineering and Mechanics, 2016A new first-order shear deformation theory is developed for dynamic behavior of functionally graded beams. The equations governing the axial and transverse deformations of functionally graded plates are derived based on the present first-order shear deformation plate theory.

Reconstruction of First-Order Shear Deformation Shell Theory for Laminated and Sandwich Shells
AIAA Journal, 2004A first-order shear deformation shell theory (FSDT), based on general curvilinear coordinates, has been reconstructed through a strain energy transformation. Based on the definition of the mean displacements, the transverse shear strains that are constant through the thickness are improved to vary through the thickness.

Random vibrations of laminated plates modeled within the first order shear deformation theory
Composite Structures, 1989This paper deals with the dynamic response of anisotropic laminated composite plates to stationary random excitation. The theory of laminated plates used here includes shear deformation and rotary inertia effects in the same manner as Mindlin's theory for isotropic homogeneous plates. Two cases of random pressure fields are considered in this analysis.

THERMAL BUCKLING OF CLAMPED CYLINDRICAL PANELS BASED ON FIRST-ORDER SHEAR DEFORMATION THEORY
International Journal of Structural Stability and Dynamics, 2004Based on the first-order shear deformation shell theory, an analytical approach is developed to predict the thermal buckling response of an all-edge clamped cylindrical panel. The analytical approach adopts a double Fourier solution method suitable for cylindrical panels.
