ABSTRACT Microalgae such as Chlorella vulgaris are gaining attention as sustainable and nutritionally valuable feed ingredients, with the potential to partially replace soybean meal in broiler diets. However, dietary inclusion of 20% C. vulgaris has been attempted, but negatively affected growth performance due to limited digestibility.

Across all population and sociodemographic groups in the Philippines, diets lacked diversity and intakes of fruit and vegetables were low. Under‐ and overnutrition are persisting challenges. Rigorous evidence from interventions to improve diet quality and fruit and vegetable intake in the Philippines is urgently needed.

Conspecific cueing or cooperative feeding?—Foraging stable flies are visually attracted to conspecific flies

In two‐choice laboratory bioassays, food‐deprived and CO2‐stimulated stable flies were offered paired landing platforms that were baited or not (control) with conspecific flies. The presence of conspecifics prompted the attraction and landing of foraging stable flies.
