Natural Resistance to Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome in Estrildid Finches Reveals Macrophage GPR183 as a Potential Therapeutic Target

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ovarian macrophage depletion reverses OHSS resistance in estrildid finches and exacerbates OHSS symptoms in rats. Activating macrophage GPR183 alleviates OHSS by reducing pro‐inflammatory factors, increasing immunomodulatory molecules, remodeling CD44/SDC4‐mediated communication, and restoring immune homeostasis.

Studies on the biology of the gyrodactyloidea (monogenea)

open access: yes, 1983
PhDThis study has examined the interaction between the viviparous rnonogenean GyrodactYlus and sticklebacks. Six species of Gyrodactylus were collected from Gasterosteus aculeatus and Pungitius pungitius in Britain. Each was narrowly host specific,

The parasitic isopod Anilocra physodes (Cymothoidae; Crustacea) on its fish host from the Atlantic coast of Morocco [PDF]

open access: yesThe Iranian Journal of Veterinary Science and Technology
This study investigated the parasitism of three species of fish species, Pagellus bogaraveo, (family Sparidae), Sardina pilchardus (family Clupeidae) and Umbrina canariensis (family Sciaenidae), collected from the Atlantic coast of Morocco.

Senescent Cell Derived Artificial Vesicle‐Based Senolytic Sonovaccine Platform with Augmented Lymph Node Delivery and Antigen Cross‐Presentation Efficacy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A senolytic sonovaccine platform (SenoVac) is developed, in which senescent cell‐derived vesicles serve as broad senescent cell antigen reservior. The “2‐step” click chemistry strategy for effective lymph node delivery, and ultrasound‐triggered endosomal escape to boost cross‐presentation, ensures efficient senescent cell clearance and disease ...

Wild and Cultured Fish Parasites in Türkiye: An Updated List of Species, Hosts, Microhabitat and Zoogeographical Distribution since 2020

open access: yesBulletin of University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca: Veterinary Medicine
A total of 624 nominal species-level and genus-level identified species of parasites were reported from 287 different nominal fish species from both wild and cultured marine and freshwater as well as aquarium habitats by 2020. This checklist provides the

A Folded, Structure‐Integrated Bimodal Sensor Enabling Non‐Contact and Tactile Perception for Intelligent Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A foldable bimodal sensor integrates a triboelectric nanogenerator and graphene piezoresistive effect into a monolithic laser‐induced graphene film. It enables synchronous non‐contact and tactile perception, achieving a distance of 110 mm, a sensitivity of 11.2 kPa−1, and a response time of 10 ms.

Gill parasites of fish from two estuaries in northeastern Brazil: new hosts and geographical records

open access: yesAnais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências
Parasites are important components of communities and constitute great part of the biological diversity found in ecosystems, providing valuable information about their hosts and the environment in which they live.

Efficient Direct Recycling of Spent Batteries: Integrated Lithiation and Delamination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An integrated process for the delamination and relithiation of spent cathodes, LixNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 and LixFePO4, under open‐air conditions is proposed. The transition‐metal (Ni) oxidation state in the cathode is reduced by the oxidation of diethylene glycol, facilitating relithiation. Glycol aldehyde formation induces 100% electrode delamination.

ZOONOTIC HELMINTHS IN LACUSTRINE FISH FROM NORTHERN ITALY

open access: yes, 2015
According to EFSA Scientific Opinion on risk assessment of parasites in fishery products issued in 2010, all wild fish should be considered at risk of containing any viable zoonotic parasites if eaten raw or almost raw, pointing out the need to carry ...

Glochidia ecology in wild fish populations and laboratory determination of competent host fishes for an endemic freshwater mussel of south-western Australia

open access: yes, 2012
Glochidia (parasitic larvae) of freshwater mussels generally require a fish as a host. Westralunio carteri Iredale, 1934 (Bivalvia : Hyriidae), the only freshwater mussel found in south-western Australia, was listed as Vulnerable, but recently changed to
