Crystal structure of an FIV/HIV chimeric protease complexed with the broad-based inhibitor, TL-3

open access: yesRetrovirology, 2007
We have obtained the 1.7 Å crystal structure of FIV protease (PR) in which 12 critical residues around the active site have been substituted with the structurally equivalent residues of HIV PR (12X FIV PR).

Prior Puma Lentivirus Infection Modifies Early Immune Responses and Attenuates Feline Immunodeficiency Virus Infection in Cats

open access: yesViruses, 2018
We previously showed that cats that were infected with non-pathogenic Puma lentivirus (PLV) and then infected with pathogenic feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) (co-infection with the host adapted/pathogenic virus) had delayed FIV proviral and RNA viral

Integrated X‐Ray, Gamma Radiation, and Micro‐CT Techniques for Quantitative Wood Characterization

open access: yesX-Ray Spectrometry, Volume 55, Issue 4, Page 612-628, July/August 2026.
ABSTRACT The present research integrates microcomputed tomography (micro‐CT), x‐ray fluorescence, and gamma‐ray transmission to quantitatively characterize wood species. A total of 22 samples from seven species were analyzed for density (ρ), linear attenuation coefficient (μ), Compton scattering, micro‐CT gray values (GV), porosity, mass attenuation ...

Relationships Between European Wildcats and Domestic Cats in an Area of Sympatry: Exploring Key Conservation Questions on Hybridization and Disease Transmission

open access: yesAnimal Conservation, Volume 29, Issue 3, Page 321-333, June 2026.
We have found evidence of behavioural barriers for both hybridization and disease transmission between European wildcats and domestic cats. This includes hierarchical interspecies exclusion enforced by wildcats, as well as sexual selection exerted by wildcat females.
