Three-Step Fixed Point Iteration for Generalized Multivalued Mapping in Banach Spaces

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2012
The convergence of three-step fixed point iterative processes for generalized multivalued nonexpansive mapping was considered in this paper. Under some different conditions, the sequences of three-step fixed point iterates strongly or weakly converge to ...

Stabilization effect of fission source in coupled Monte Carlo simulations

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2017
A fission source can act as a stabilization element in coupled Monte Carlo simulations. We have observed this while studying numerical instabilities in nonlinear steady-state simulations performed by a Monte Carlo criticality solver that is coupled to a ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Fixed point results for generalized convex orbital Lipschitz operators

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica
Krasnoselskii’s iteration is a classical and important method for approximating the fixed point of an operator that satisfies certain conditions. Many authors have used this approach to obtain several famous fixed point theorems for different types of ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Acceleration methods for fixed-point iterations

open access: yesActa Numerica
A pervasive approach in scientific computing is to express the solution to a given problem as the limit of a sequence of vectors or other mathematical objects. In many situations these sequences are generated by slowly converging iterative procedures, and this led practitioners to seek faster alternatives to reach the limit.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

The convergence of the Euler's method

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2010
In this article we study the Euler's iterative method. For this method we give a global theorem of convergence. In the last section of the paper we give a numerical example which illustrates the result exposed in this work.

An Efficient Semi-Analytical Solution of a One-Dimensional Curvature Equation that Describes the Human Corneal Shape

open access: yesMathematical and Computational Applications, 2019
In this paper, a numerical approach is proposed to find a semi analytical solution for a prescribed anisotropic mean curvature equation modeling the human corneal shape.
