Perspective: Hollow Core Optical Fibres for Ultraviolet and Visible Wavelengths
Hollow core optical fibres bypass material constraints that limit optical fibres at ultraviolet and visible wavelengths. However, their challenging fabrication has limited their development, and significant gains in performance remain possible. In this perspective we outline approaches to enable the next generation of fibres for shorter wavelengths ...

Balancing Bulk Solution Chemistry and Cation Solvation for Stable Aqueous Aluminum Batteries
A dual‐scale electrolyte design balances bulk solution chemistry and cation solvation in aqueous aluminum batteries. Regulation of the bulk solution preserves high ionic conductivity and electrochemical stability, while modulation of the Al3+ solvation environment lowers desolvation penalties and suppresses hydrogen evolution. This balanced electrolyte

The Effect of Heat Loss on the Instability of Premixed Flames
The effect of heat loss on the instability of premixed flames is studied by two-dimensional unsteady calculations of reactive flows, based on the compressible Navier-Stokes equation. We take account of hydrodynamic and diffusive-thermal effects as to the intrinsic instability of premixed flames.
