Super active regions and production of major solar flares

open access: yes, 1986
The success of imaging detectors with small fields of veiw such as HXIS or P/OF (Pinhole/Occulter Facility) depends heavily on pointing to the right place at the right time.

Expert Perspectives: Defining and Managing Progressive Pulmonary Fibrosis in Systemic Sclerosis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Systemic sclerosis–associated interstitial lung disease (SSc‐ILD) is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in SSc, affecting up to three‐quarters of patients. The disease course is highly heterogeneous, ranging from indolent, nonprogressive forms to rapidly progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PPF).

From Interferon Signature to the Clinical Landscape: Type I Interferonopathies

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective TypeI interferonopathies are heterogeneous diseases driven by dysregulated type I interferon (IFN‐I) signaling. Diagnosis is challenging due to clinical/molecular variability and the need for IFN‐I quantification. The aim of this study was to characterize the clinical, immunologic, genetic, molecular profiles of patients with suspected ...

Efficacy and Safety of Nanoencapsulated Sirolimus Plus Pegadricase: Results From the Randomized, Placebo‐Controlled Phase 3 Trials

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective DISSOLVE I and II examined the efficacy and safety of nanoencapsulated sirolimus (NAS) plus pegadricase (NASP) in patients with uncontrolled gout (UG). Methods In these double‐blind, placebo‐controlled Phase 3 trials of NASP, patients were randomized 1:1:1 to infusions of high‐dose (HD) or low‐dose (LD) NAS plus pegadricase (HD NASP, LD NASP,

Study of stellar flares

open access: yes, 2014
Kepler observations revealed that many sun-like stars produce flares that are much greater strength in terms of total luminosity visual wavelengths compared to solar flares.

Type I interferon drives dysfunction of a distinct CD8+ HLA‐DRB1+ T cell subset in systemic lupus erythematosus

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.
Objective Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is characterized by type I interferon (IFN) signaling and adaptive immune dysregulation. We previously identified hypomethylation of HLA‐DRB1 and STAT1 in SLE CD8+ T cells, enabling aberrant IFN‐driven HLA‐DRB1 expression and expansion of a distinct CD8+ T cell subset. This study characterized CD8+ HLA‐DRB1+

Solar flares - Magnetohydrodynamic instabilities

open access: yes, 1981
It is pointed out that most solar flares are either simple-loop (or compact) flares or two-ribbon flares. A single loop brightens and decays without moving, whereas the appearance of the two-ribbon type involves the eruption of a magnetic arcade.

The ORCA‐TWIN qCMOS Experiment I. Science Case and Commissioning at Calar Alto Observatory

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We describe a pilot study to explore a new generation of fast and low noise CMOS image sensors for time domain astronomy, using two remote telescopes with a baseline of 1635 km. The experiment involves direct imaging with novel qCMOS image sensor technology that combines fast readout with sub‐electron readout noise.
