Caught in a Flare

New England Journal of Medicine, 2020
Caught in a Flare This interactive case features a 24-year-old woman with systemic lupus erythematosus who presents with a 1-month history of worsening fatigue, diffuse arthralgias, a rash on her f...

ATTRACTORS WITH FLARES

Fractals, 1995
When a chaotic signal is used to force a switching-type variable which dependent on the momentary magnitude of the chaotic stimulus either shows a damped or an autocatalytic response, a new dynamical phenomenon arises. It is reminiscent of the “flares” observed in astrophysical situations.

Auroral flares and solar flares

Space Science Reviews, 1975
The morphology of development of auroral flares (magnetospheric substorms) for both electron and proton auroras is summarized, based on ground-based as well as rocket-borne and satellite-borne data with specific reference to the morphology of solar flares.

Flare periodicity in flare stars?

Astrophysics, 1999
Flare periodicity has been found in the flare star Pleiades No. 484. The period of its flare activity is determined from an analysis of the flares’time distribution.

Periodicity of the Flare Frequency of Flare Stars

Astrophysics, 2019
Data from the Kepler Orbital Observatory are used in a statistical study of the periodic/cyclical variability of the flare frequency of 76 flare stars. Corresponding periodic functions of the flare frequency are obtained and a possible periodicity of the flare frequency with a period equal to the star’s rotation period is tested.

Variation of the flare frequency of flare stars

Astrophysics, 1999
The question of the possible variation of the flare frequency of flare stars is considered.

Cyclic flaring activity of flare stars

Astrophysics, 2010
Methods of detecting probable cycles in the flaring activity of flare stars and determining the cycle durations are examined. A new method of detecting a cycle of flaring activity and determining its duration is proposed assuming periodic flaring activity.

Is FLARE for Neutrino Solar Flare?

2005
The Fermi Lab Liquid ARgon experiment, FLARE, a huge neutrino argon-liquid project detector of 50 kt mass, might in a near future enlarge the neutrino telescope accuracy revealing in detail solar, supernova, atmospheric as well as largest solar flares neutrino.
