External heating of a flat plate in a convective flow

open access: yes, 1984
The steady-state and íransient processes of the exteinal heating of a flat píate under a convective flow is studied in thís paper, with inclusión of the axial heat conduction tíirough the píate.

Dynamic response and collapse resistance of RC flat plate structures subjected to instantaneous removal of an interior column

open access: yes, 2022
Through quasi-static loading regimes, notable research efforts have been made in recent years towards understanding the structural behaviour and resistance mechanism of reinforced concrete (RC) flat plate structures against progressive collapse events ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Numerical Analysis of Thermal Performance of Flat Heat Pipe

open access: yes, 2012
Three dimensional numerical investigation is carried out to study the influence of geometry on thermal behavior of flat heat pipe. Two phase mixture model has been formulated to investigate the phase change phenomena during steady state operation of flat

Anticlastic behavior of flat plates [PDF]

open access: yesExperimental Mechanics, 1965
The purpose of this paper is to show that the readings from strain gages can be used effectively to compute small transverse deflections in a rectangular plate and, further, show that the theory developed by Lamb for the rectangular-plate problem agrees with experiment. A numerical procedure is developed, based on the trapezoidal rule, which determines

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Toward optimal control of flat plate photobioreactors: the greenhouse analogy?

open access: yes, 2010
: The cultivation of algae in photo-bioreactors shows similarities to crop cultivation in greenhouses, especially when the reactors are driven by sun light.

Punching Shear Responses of Flat-Plate Assemblages Strengthened with Engineered Cementitious Composites

open access: yesInternational Journal of Concrete Structures and Materials
Flat plate flooring systems are susceptible to punching shear failures at slab-column joints, which is pointed out as one of critical obstacles in its application to high-rise buildings in strong wind or seismic regions.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...
