Stationary solutions and asymptotic flatness II [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This is the second part of the investigation started in [Stationary solutions and asymptotic flatness I]. We prove here that Strongly Stationary ends having cubic volume growth are Weakly Asymptotically Flat.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Electrochemical Mill Grinding of (TiB+TiC)/Ti6Al4V Composites Using Abrasive Tool with Bottom Outlet Holes

open access: yesMicromachines
Difficult-to-cut titanium matrix composites (TMCs) are widely used in the aerospace, automotive, and defense sectors due to their excellent physical properties.

On quantum state of numbers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We introduce the notions of quantum characteristic and quantum flatness for arbitrary rings. More generally, we develop the theory of quantum integers in a ring and show that the hypothesis of quantum flatness together with positive quantum ...

The flatness problem and $\Lambda$

open access: yes, 2005
By way of a complete integration of the Friedmann equations, in terms of observables, it is shown that for the cosmological constant $\Lambda > 0$ there exist non-flat FLRW models for which the total density parameter $\Omega$ remains $\sim 1$ throughout

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Subpullbacks and coproducts of $S$-posets [PDF]

open access: yesCategories and General Algebraic Structures with Applications, 2015
In 2001, S. Bulman-Fleming et al. initiated the study of three flatness properties (weakly kernel flat, principally weakly kernel flat, translation kernel flat) of right acts $A_{S}$ over a monoid $S$ that can be described by means of when the functor ...

From Planck to GUT via Dimensional Transmutation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Consider a gauge singlet superfield S coupled to a pair of adjoint fields in a SUSY-GUT. If the tree-level vacuum is flat in S, the vev which defines the GUT scale will be determined via dimensional transmutation at a scale M where the soft-breaking ...

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.
