Optimization of process parameters for high speed milling TC4 titanium alloy with PCD tool

open access: yesJin'gangshi yu moliao moju gongcheng, 2020
The TC4(Ti-6Al-4V)titanium alloy was plane milled precisely with PCD milling cutter. The flatness, the parallelism, the surface roughness, the surface hardness and the surface residual stress were measured by the coordinate measuring machine, the surface

Can Typicality Arguments Dissolve Cosmology’s Flatness Problem? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The flatness problem in cosmology draws attention to a surprising fine-tuning of the spatial geometry of our universe towards flatness. Several physicists, among them Hawking, Page, Coule, and Carroll, have argued against the probabilistic intuitions ...

A new flow chip in combination with multiphoton microscopy as a protocol for longitudinal 3D imaging of tissue calcification under shear stress

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Miniaturized flow chip platform enabling continuous perfusion and longitudinal multiphoton 3D imaging of vascular smooth muscle cell constructs under physiological flow. Brightfield imaging guides region selection, while CellTracker Green and mRuby‐labeled fetuin‐A visualize cells and mineral deposition, respectively. Magnesium supplementation markedly

Experimental Study on Surface Roughness and Flatness in Lapping of AISI 52100 Steel [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Design and Manufacturing Technology, 2016
Lapping is one of the most important polishing processes which can be used to fabricate flat and smooth surfaces. In this paper, the effect of lapping characteristics and mesh number of abrasive particles are studied on the surface roughness and flatness

Some properties of bolted joints [PDF]

open access: yes
The roles of surface roughness and of surface flatness in determining the properties of structural joints are discussed. A method of measuring the effects of errors of form on joint stiffness is given.

Flatness characterization of EUV mask chucks

open access: yes, 2022
S.737-740For future extreme ultra violet (ELTV) lithography at a wavelength of about 13 nm, flatness of the mask surface is an issue, since out-of-plane deviations sensitively transfer to in-plane distortions.

Ionomycin suppresses cancer cell growth by disrupting mitochondrial transcription

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In this study, we identify a new function for the selective Ca2+ ionophore, ionomycin, as an inhibitor of mitochondrial transcription. Both total and nascent RNA analyses revealed that ionomycin treatment reduces the transcription of mitochondrial genes.

Theoretical Study of Asymmetric Bending Force on Metal Deformation in Cold Rolling

open access: yesMetals
A three-dimensional elastic–plastic finite element model of a six-roll cold rolling mill has been developed using the finite element software ABAQUS. The actual parameters of the rolling mill have been incorporated into the finite element model, with the

Flatness-Aware Minimization for Domain Generalization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Domain generalization (DG) seeks to learn robust models that generalize well under unknown distribution shifts. As a critical aspect of DG, optimizer selection has not been explored in depth.
