Pseudotyped Virus for Flaviviridae

2023
Members of Flaviviridae are enveloped single positive-stranded RNA viruses including hepacivirus, pestivirus, pegivirus, and mosquito-transmitted flavivirus, which are important pathogens of infectious diseases and pose serious threats to human health.

The hepatic flaviviridae: summary

Journal of Viral Hepatitis, 1999
Hepatitis C envelope proteins (E1, E2) induce protective neutralizing antibodies. The extent of sequence diversity reflects the host's ability to control viral populations and the response to antiviral therapy. Attempts to prepare effective vaccines against HCV are foiled by lack of prolonged protective immunity.

Flaviviridae polymerase and RNA replication

Journal of Viral Hepatitis, 1999
Sequence motifs within the non‐structural protein NS5 or NS5B of the members of the family Flaviviridae suggest that this protein is the RNA‐dependent RNA polymerase. This protein has now been expressed in various in vitro systems and used in polymerase assays.

Defective adenoviruses as novel vaccines for the Flaviviridae

Clinical and Diagnostic Virology, 1998
Vaccines against many flaviviruses, such as Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV), yellow fever virus (YFV) and tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV), have been successfully used for many years. Other diseases such as dengue fever (DF) and hepatitis C are still major public health problems as no licensed vaccines are in use.To review studies on the use of ...

Taxonomy of the virus family Flaviviridae

2003
Publisher Summary By 1960 it was recognized that eastern equine encephalitis, western equine encephalitis, and certain other arboviruses were related to each other. These were categorized as “Group A arboviruses”, now known as the genus Alphavirus of the family Togaviridae.
