The natural polyphenol fortunellin and its structural analogs are inhibitors of the SARS-CoV-2 main proteinase dimerization, as revealed by molecular simulation studies [PDF]
3CL-Pro (or M-Pro) is the SARS-CoV-2 main protease, acting as a homodimer, is responsible for the cleavage of the large polyprotein 1ab transcript in proteins acting on viral growth and replication. 3CL-Pro has been one of the most studied SARS-CoV-2 proteins and the subject of therapeutic interventions, targeting its catalytic domain. A number of drug

The gut microbiome is a potential target for treating cardiovascular disease. It is found that prophylactic administration of Flavonifractor plautii or its metabolite desaminotyrosine (DAT) exerts pleiotropic cardioprotective effects via promoting cardiomyocyte survival and attenuating cardiac inflammation against myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R ...

Electrochemical Determination of Gallic Acid in Tea Samples Using Pyramidal Pt Nanoparticles
A novel electrochemical sensor based on pyramidal Pt nanoparticles for gallic acid detection in black and green tea samples is developed. The sensor is prepared by a simple drop casting of nanoparticles on the electrode surface, without any supporting materials, such as polymer matrices and surfactants.

Comparative study of the biological activities of the aqueous extracts of two spontaneous plants harvested in the Algerian Sahara [PDF]
The present study investigates the insecticidal and herbicidal effects of leaf extracts from two plants were harvested in the Northern Algerian Sahara. These are Cleome arabica (Capparaceae) and Pergularia tomentosa (Asclepiadaceae). The efficacy of the extracts from the plants was evaluated by the reflux extraction method.

Effect of different polarity solvents on total phenols and flavonoids content, and In-vitro antioxidant properties of flowers extract from Aurea Helianthus [PDF]
The total phenols and flavonoids content of different polar solvent extracts from Aurea Helianthus flowers, and their antioxidant activity were determined. The ethanol extract of Aurea Helianthus flowers were suspended in water and fractionated using different polar solvents; hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol and water.

Using CO2‐rich polluting gases in greenhouse plant cultivation has proven to be a promising technique for stimulating plants while reducing emissions to the atmosphere. The use of an experimental biofilter proves to be effective in retaining most of the toxic particles. The alteration of physiological and metabolic parameters shows an adaptation of the
