Mamdani FLC with Various Implications

2009 11th International Symposium on Symbolic and Numeric Algorithms for Scientific Computing, 2009
The task of the standard Mamdani fuzzy logic controller is to find a crisp control action from the fuzzy rule-base and from a set of crisp inputs. Because the interval inputs are frequently used in various domains (online shopping, for instance), in this paper we propose an extension of this type of controller which works with intervals as inputs and ...

FLC materials for microdisplay applications

SPIE Proceedings, 1998
FLCs exhibit the electrooptic speed necessary for construction of full color, high resolution FRAM-based microdisplays. Special FLC materials are required to meet the performance characteristics required of these reflective microdisplays. The specifications for FLC mixtures for several applications, an approach to formulating them, and several key ...

FLC based matrix optical switch

2009 International Conference on Photonics in Switching, 2009
A prototype of fast non-blocking 4×4 optical LC switch was designed and built. This switch is based on fast Ferroelectric LCs. The optical performance of the switch, such as cross-talk and insertion loss, was simulated and experimentally studied.

Characterization of FLCs using lasers

SPIE Proceedings, 2003
A low power beam of He-Ne laser light is scattered from the sample of liquid crystal at various temperatures and is made incident on a fixed cavity Fabry-Perot etalon. Analysis of the change in the diameter of the Fabry Perot rings is indicative of the change in the mesophase of the LC.

31.1: SXGA Resolution FLC Microdisplays

SID Symposium Digest of Technical Papers, 2002
Abstract We describe an SXGA format, ferroelectric liquid crystal on silicon (FLCOS) microdisplay. Details of the optimisation of the device for near eye and projection applications are given. This includes discussion of drive schemes and the alignment options and device geometries necessary for bistable device operation.

Feed forward FLC for PMSM drives

IVEC2001. Proceedings of the IEEE International Vehicle Electronics Conference 2001. IVEC 2001 (Cat. No.01EX522), 2002
By the development of new magnetic materials the PMSM allows a considerable reduction in motor size, and consequently inertia with valuable increase in specific power and torque. These advantages coupled with the availability of appropriate power electronics devices has resulted in widespread adoption of the PMSM for applications in machine tools ...

Components for host mixtures of FLC

Ferroelectrics, 1993
Abstract Some liquid crystal materials are presented and discussed useful to improve the physical properties of a host mixture for FLC, for example, their temperature range, phase sequences, viscosity and response time.

Optical switching with two FLC SLMs

Optics Communications, 2000
A free-space optical switch concept that uses two binary phase modulating FLC SLMs is studied. The first SLM steers the input beams to output ports on the second SLM which redeflects the incident beams. The second SLM acts as an angle selective filter which reduces the crosstalk.
