Morphological characterization and the relationship between morphometric indices of a local Cyprus fat–tailed Sheep breed in Cyprus

open access: yesRevista Científica
With many local breeds in danger of extinction or genetic erosion, the loss of genetic variety in farm animal genetic resources is an increasingly critical concern. Conserving diverse sheep breeds is crucial for long–term agricultural sustainability and

Effects of breed, rapid inbreeding, crossbreeding and environmental factors on fleece weight and fleece shedding in sheep

open access: yes, 1994
Fleece weight and shedding score, a measure of premature fleece loss, were examined at first shearing and in older female sheep of three hilt breeds and their reciprocal crosses.

Integrated Multi‐Omics Reveals Cellular States and Microenvironmental Remodeling in Coexisting DCIS and IDC

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Coexisting DCIS and IDC samples are profiled using spatial transcriptomics, single‐cell RNA sequencing, and single‐cell DNA sequencing. Integrative multi‐omics analysis reveals distinct malignant epithelial and microenvironmental features between DCIS and IDC, which are further validated using Xenium and multiplex immunohistochemistry.

Determination of Gene‐Level Fitness Contributions Across the Mucin‐Utilization Network of Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Genome‐wide CRISPRi and RNA‐seq resolve how B. thetaiotaomicron converts host mucosal glycans into fitness. The study reveals a layered mucin‐utilization architecture in which capsular polysaccharides constrain surface access, extracellular CAZymes and peptidases show functional redundancy, and intracellular catabolic pathways create discrete metabolic

Large Oncosomes Induce Pro‐Metastatic Stromal‐Myeloid Reprogramming

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Large oncosomes systemically reprogram bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells through innate nucleic acid sensing, driving inflammatory and immunosuppressive remodeling that supports a metastasis‐permissive bone marrow environment, revealing a novel tumor‐host communication axis in cancer. ABSTRACT Bone metastasis can be facilitated by systemic remodeling,

Gapless Complete Genome and Multi‐Omics Illuminate Immune Adaptation and Host‐Virus Interactions in a Coronavirus Reservoir

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a complete T2T genome assembly for a key bat reservoir. Integrating population genomics, comparative genomics, transcriptomics, single‐cell omics, and functional assays, we resolve previously inaccessible genomic regions and identify evolutionary signatures associated with immune adaptation.

Fiber length and its phenotypic role in fleece coverage and genotype-based biotype identification in South American domestic camelids

open access: yesOpen Veterinary Journal
Background: Accurate biotype identification in South American domestic camelids (SAC) reared in mixed herds remains a persistent challenge. Phenotypic classifications have been limited by outdated information and an over-reliance on morphological traits,

3′‐UTR Hypermethylation and ABA Signaling Coordinate Transcriptional Activation of SWEET14 for High Sugar Accumulation in Citrus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hypermethylation of CliSWEET14 3′‐UTR relieves ClibHLH105‐mediated transcriptional repression, together with ABA signaling‐mediated activation of the CliABF3‐CliNAC56 cascade, boosts CliSWEET14 expression and sucrose accumulation in citrus. ABSTRACT Sugar accumulation is pivotal for fruit quality, yet the molecular regulation of this process remains ...
