Discrete Model Reference Adaptive Control for Gimbal Servosystem of Control Moment Gyro with Harmonic Drive

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013
The double‐gimbal control moment gyro (DGCMG) demands that the gimbal servosystem should have fast response and small overshoot. But due to the low and nonlinear torsional stiffness of harmonic drive, the gimbal servo‐system has poor dynamic performance with large overshoot and low bandwidth.

Design Method for Tooth Profile of Harmonic Drive Considering the Spatial Deformation of Flexspline

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2021
In order to solve the problem that the tooth designed in plane has profile interference under the influence of spatial deformation of the flexspline,a bidirectional conjugate method considering the spatial deformation of the flexspline is proposed.

Joint Dynamics Modeling and Parameter Identification for Space Robot Applications

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, Volume 2007, Issue 1, 2007., 2007
Long‐term mission identification and model validation for in‐flight manipulator control system in almost zero gravity with hostile space environment are extremely important for robotic applications. In this paper, a robot joint mathematical model is developed where several nonlinearities have been taken into account.

Performance of Magnetic-Superconductor Non-Contact Harmonic Drive for Cryogenic Space Applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Harmonic drives are profusely used in aerospace mainly because of their compactness and large reduction ratio. However, their use in cryogenic environments is still a challenge. Lubrication and fatigue are non-trivial issues under these conditions.

FEM Analysis of Stress Distribution in the Hermetic Harmonic Drive Flexspline [PDF]

open access: yesStrength of Materials, 2017
The paper deals with the numerical stress calculation in the flexspline tooth rim of the harmonic drive. Due to the complex geometry of the toothed ring in the flexspline, the teeth were modeled as a ring, which height corresponded to the particular stress concentration in the teeth.

Design and Analysis of Harmonic Reducer Combined Curve Cam Wave Generators

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2023
The shape of wave generator directly affects the mechanical characteristics of the flexspline. Flexspline is the weakest part of harmonic drivers. In order to improve its life, the design of a cam wave generator based on a conical curve combination is ...

New Construction Solutions of Gear Using in Space Vehicle Control Systems

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Outer space presents construction challenges that are completely different from the terrestrial environment. They should be characterized by high resilience and indefinite durability because there is no possibility of repair during exploitation.
