Effect of temperature on the kinetics of froth flotation

Minerals Engineering, 1994
Abstract The kinetics of froth flotation and the three-phase contact (TPC) parameters are studied at temperatures varying from 20°C to 40°C. The material floated consists of glass spheres (ballotini) and quartz particles with various diameters. Dodecylamine hydrochloride (DDAHCl) as a collector is used.

Thermodynamic behavior and flotation kinetics of an ionic liquid microemulsion collector for coal flotation

, 2020
To develop a new type of coal slime collector, an ionic liquid microemulsion was prepared using 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride ([Cnmim]Cl, where n = 12, 14, or 16) as a surfactant, n-alcohol (n-butanol, n-pentanol or n-hexanol) as a cosurfactant ...

Kinetic considerations in the flotation of phosphate ore

Advanced Powder Technology, 2005
Abstract A study was conducted on the flotation with oleic acid of sedimentary phosphates from Sierra Espuna, in the province of Murcia (Spain), also comprising an analysis of the kinetic considerations governing the operation. Two different flotation cells were used for this purpose, i.e. a Hallimond tube and a subaeration cell (Denver D-12).

Thermodynamic and Kinetic Flotation Criteria

Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy Review, 1989
Abstract Flotation thermodynamics and notation kinetics are discussed and compared with chemical thermodynamics and chemical kinetics. While chemical thermodynamics can predict whether a reaction will take place under a given set of conditions (temperature and pressure), and can also predict the direction in which the equilibrium will be shifted in ...

The effect of reagent type on generating bulk sub-micron (nano) bubbles and flotation kinetics of coarse-sized quartz particles

, 2020
Dodecylamine (DDA) is a commonly used collector in the froth flotation of quartz particles. The present work for the first time studies the effect of DDA nanobubbles (NBs) on the flotation of coarse particles (−425 + 300 μm, −300 + 212 μm and − 212 + 106

Distributed flotation kinetics models – A new implementation approach for coal flotation

Minerals Engineering, 2014
Abstract Composition-dependent flotation kinetic models with distributed flotation rate constants for predicting the flotation response of the various components of coal have been available for quite some time. However, the full potential of these models have not been realised because the floatability distribution of particles, a key requirement for ...

ABILITY OF KINETIC FLOTATION MODELS TO SIMULATE INTERACTIONS BETWEEN GRINDING AND FLOTATION

Canadian Metallurgical Quarterly, 2005

Effects of particle size and ferric hydroxo complex produced by different grinding media on the flotation kinetics of pyrite

, 2020
Flotation kinetics is an excellent tool used to evaluate flotation performance, which is controlled by several factors, such as the particle size, bubble size, and surface property.

Bubble spreading kinetics and mineral flotation

Minerals Engineering, 1994
The rate of movement of the three phase contact line when a gas bubble displaces an aqueous solution from silica surfaces of varying hydrophobicity has been examined. Bubbles with radii from 0.4 × 10−3 to 2.6 × 10−3 m have been studied, on surfaces hydrophobized with short chain organosilanes and long chain alcohols.
