Experimental Studies on the Kinetics of Flotation
1992Dissolved-air flotation (DAF) is a combination of several physical and chemical unit processes and operations. This study is focused on the phenomena in the flotation tank and especially on the formation and rising of air-bubble floc agglomerates (called agglomerates only).

Distributed flotation kinetics models – A new implementation approach for coal flotation
Minerals Engineering, 2014Abstract Composition-dependent flotation kinetic models with distributed flotation rate constants for predicting the flotation response of the various components of coal have been available for quite some time. However, the full potential of these models have not been realised because the floatability distribution of particles, a key requirement for ...

ABILITY OF KINETIC FLOTATION MODELS TO SIMULATE INTERACTIONS BETWEEN GRINDING AND FLOTATION

Bubble spreading kinetics and mineral flotation
Minerals Engineering, 1994The rate of movement of the three phase contact line when a gas bubble displaces an aqueous solution from silica surfaces of varying hydrophobicity has been examined. Bubbles with radii from 0.4 × 10−3 to 2.6 × 10−3 m have been studied, on surfaces hydrophobized with short chain organosilanes and long chain alcohols.

A kinetic model for batch coal flotation
Minerals Engineering, 1989Abstract Experiments were carried out in a batch flotation cell using four coals at different levels of variables. From the results of these experiments, it is verified that the recoveries of non-ash and ash material from any size fraction follow first order kinetics given by the equation: R = R −8 (1 − e − kt ) It has ...

In-line static mixer rapid flotation system for improved flotation kinetics
Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration, 1993The US Bureau of Mines investigated rapid froth flotation through more efficient bubble-particle collisions that improved the overall flotation kinetics. An in-line static mixer efficiently mixed the bubbles, water and ore, selectively attaching these bubbles to the hydrophobic mineral’s surface.
