TIME-CONSERVATIVE FINITE-VOLUME METHOD WITH LARGE-EDDY SIMULATION FOR COMPUTATIONAL AEROACOUSTICS [PDF]
This thesis presents a time-conservative finite-volume method based on a modern flow simulation technique developed by the author. Its applicability to technically relevant aeroacoustic applications is demonstrated.

Metrological performance of single-jet water meters over time
To maintain quality measurement of water consumption, it is necessary to know the metrology of single-jet water meters over time. Knowing the accuracy of these instruments over time allows establishing a metrological operation period for different flow ...

How to spark team flow over time
AbstractAn important question in teamwork research is how to maximize performance and the aspects of the team's dynamics and collaboration process that underpin it. Prior research has shown that when team members who are collaborating towards a common purpose experience flow together (team flow; optimal experiences that occur simultaneously at the ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Transcritical rotating flow over topography
The flow of a one-and-a-half layer fluid over a three-dimensional obstacle of non-dimensional height M, relative to the lower layer depth, is investigated in the presence of rotation, the magnitude of which is measured by a non-dimensional parameter B ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

An FPTAS for Flows over Time with Aggregate Arc Capacities [PDF]
We study flows over time in networks with transit times on the arcs. Transit times describe how long it takes to traverse an arc. A flow over time specifies for each arc a time-dependent flow rate that must always be bounded by the arc's capacity. Only recently, Melkonian introduced an alternative model where so-called bridge capacities bound the total

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Why Did the Investment-Cash Flow Sensitivity Decline over Time?
We propose an explanation for why corporate investment used to be sensitive to cash flow and why the sensitivity declined over time. The sensitivity stems from the informational role of cash flow in inferring the productivity of tangible capital in the ...
