pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Modified Ricci flow on a principal bundle
textLet M be a Riemannian manifold with metric g, and let P be a principal G-bundle over M having connection one-form a. One can define a modified version of the Ricci flow on P by fixing the size of the fiber.

Overland flow resistance & flood generation in semi-arid environments: explaining the restrained draining of the rain in Spain [PDF]
Resistance equations developed for pipe flows and open channel flows cannot be applied to model overland flows uncritically. The formulation of these equations employs several assumptions that are specific to the conditions in which they were developed ...

Statistical models for over-dispersion in the frequency of peaks over threshold data for a flow series. [PDF]
In a peaks over threshold analysis of a series of river flows, a sufficiently high threshold is used to extract the peaks of independent flood events. This paper reviews existing, and proposes new, statistical models for both the annual counts of such ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

FLOW OVER TIME PROBLEM WITH INFLOW-DEPENDENT TRANSIT TIMES
Network flow over time is an important area for the researcher relating to the traffic assignment problem. Transmission times of the vehicles directly depend on the number of vehicles entering the road. Flow over time with fixed transit times can be solved by using classical (static) flow algorithms in a corresponding time expanded network which is ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

The sedimentology and dynamics of mega-dunes, Jamuna river, Bangladesh [PDF]
This thesis quantifies the occurrence, morphology and flow dynamics of dune bcdforms in the main rivers of Bangladesh: the Jamuna, Meghna and Ganges. Field work was conducted as part of the River Survey Project (Bangladesh Flood Action Plan 24) between ...
