Fast Detection of the Single Point Leakage in Branched Shale Gas Gathering and Transportation Pipeline Network with Condensate Water

open access: yesEnergies
The node pressure and flow rate along the shale gas flow process are analyzed according to the characteristics of the shale gas flow pipe network, and the non-leaking and leaking processes of the shale gas flow pipe network are modeled separately.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

The time-dependent flow through throttle valves: a computational and experimental investigation [PDF]

open access: yes
The automotive industry is, perhaps, and that is left open to debate, one of the most important engineering fields, and one which is increasingly influential on our everyday lives.

A dynamic nonlinear flow algorithm to model patient flow

open access: yesScientific Reports
Hospitals are complex systems, and the flow of patients is dynamic and nonlinear in such systems. Network representation allows flow algorithms to observe bottlenecks as candidates for optimisation.

Automated, Point-of-Care mobile flow cytometry: Bringing the laboratory to the sample

open access: yesHeliyon
Background: Innate effector cells are very responsive to infectious and inflammatory cues found in damaged and inflamed tissues. Their activation is a potential target to assess the state of the immune system.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Trajectories of mindfulness, flow experience, and stress during an online-based MBSR program: the moderating role of emotional exhaustion

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology
IntroductionDespite numerous papers focusing on mindfulness at work, our knowledge about how flow experience and stress as indicators of optimal functioning and wellbeing at work evolve over time during the common mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR)

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Shock induced fluid structure interaction on a flexible wall in supersonic turbulent flow

open access: yes, 2011
A detailed knowledge of the flow structure interaction in supersonic flows is important for the design of future space transportation systems. Therefore this work was devoted to the investigation of the shock wave boundary layer interaction on an ...
