Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Investigation of Flow Pattern Change at Lateral Intake due to Inclination of Channel Bank [PDF]
Lateral intake is a hydraulic structure which is used for diversion of some portion of water from a river. In this paper because of the importance of sediment entry to the intake, flow patterns and the most important factors affecting the sediment entry ...

Liquid Atomization Using a Rotary Bell Cup Atomizer
This present study investigates liquid flow patterns on the inner surface of a rotary bell cup atomizer and the effect of these flow patterns on the breakup patterns at the edge of the rotary bell cup.

Electrorheological flow patterns analysis
A method of image analysis of flow patterns, which are developed in electrorheological fluids, is presented. Due to the process of preparation, electrorheological samples show a radial symmetry. Numerical transformations are necessary to remove sample deformation and obtain correct radial dependence of image intensity as the function characterizing the

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Relationship between the Basic Geometric Form and Hydrodynamic Characteristics of Water Hammer Pump
This study focuses on water hammer pumps that can effectively use the water hammer phenomenon and allow fluid transport without drive sources, such as electric motors. An understanding of water hammer pumps' operating conditions and an evaluation of
