We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Hydraulic Resistance of Vegetation in River Flow Applications [PDF]
Proceedings of the Seventh International Conference on Hydroscience and Engineering, Philadelphia, PA, September 2006. http://hdl.handle.net/1860/732If vegetated regions become part of a river’s flow field, the hydraulic resistance of vegetation ...

FLOW RESISTANCE OF STEPPED CHANNEL FLOWS
Many researchers have investigated the friction factor of stepped channel flows, but general agreement has not been obtained. Because a method for evaluating a supercritical depth of the stepped channel flow might not be established. Further, the hydraulic condition required to form a quasi-uniform flow on the steppedchannel has not been clarified ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Scaling Theory of Conduction Through a Normal-Superconductor Microbridge [PDF]
The length dependence is computed of the resistance of a disordered normal-metal wire attached to a superconductor. The scaling of the transmission eigenvalue distribution with length is obtained exactly in the metallic limit, by a transformation onto ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.
