In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Additively Manufactured Flow-Resistive Pulse Sensors [PDF]

open access: yesAnalytical Chemistry, 2019
Resistive pulse sensors (RPSs) provide detailed characterization of materials from the nanoparticle up to large biological cells on a particle-to-particle basis. During the RPS experiment, particles pass through a channel or pore that conducts ions, and the change in the ionic current versus time is monitored.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

GMAW shielding gas flow optimisation by refinement of nozzle geometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
With an ongoing demand to improve the efficiency of the gas metal arc welding process, steps are being taken to reduce the shielding gas consumption. However, sufficient shielding gas coverage of the weld region is essential for the generation of high ...

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Research on Application Status of Water-cooled Radiator of Rail Transit

open access: yes机车电传动, 2020
A variety of different structures of water-cooled radiators used in rail transportation were tested and compared. The effects of different types of flow channels on the flow resistance and heat dissipation performance of radiators were compared, and the ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Study of properties of nonwoven filter cartridges for the intake air of a car engine [PDF]

open access: yesBiuletyn Wojskowej Akademii Technicznej, 2017
The sources of atmospheric air pollution are presented. It has been shown that dust is a major component of the intake air of internal combustion engines.

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.
