A General Scaling Law of Vascular Tree: Optimal Principle of Bifurcations in Pulsatile Flow [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics
Murray’s law, as the best-known optimal relationship between bifurcation calibers, is obtained based on the assumption of steady-state Poiseuille blood flow and is mostly accurate in small vessels.

Autophagy and mitophagy in pancreatic β‐cell homeostasis and their involvement in diabetes pathophysiology

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review focuses on the role of autophagy and mitophagy in maintaining pancreatic β‐cell function and homeostasis. We discuss how genetic defects affecting these pathways contribute to the development of type 1, type 2, monogenic, and gestational diabetes. We further explore their potential as therapeutic targets. Created in BioRender.

Effect of Flow Resistance in Adiabatic Part on the Thermal Performance of CO2, R134a, and R410A Two-phase Thermosyphon Loops

open access: yesZhileng xuebao
This study experimentally investigates the impact of flow resistance in risers and downcomers on the heat transfer performance of two-phase thermosyphon loops (TPTLs) with CO2, R134a, and R410A refrigerants.

Experimental Study on the Effects of Flexible Vegetation on Hydraulic Characteristics and Local Head Losses of Overland Flow

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2013
:The series of overland flow experiments were conducted on flexible vegetative beds with 20 degree slopes, and the hydraulic characteristics of sheeted flows were observed for parameters such as surface velocity, flow depth, and the averaged velocity. The ...

Synergistic perspectives—How single‐molecule biophysics complement biochemical understanding

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how ensemble biochemistry and single‐molecule approaches are complementary, outline commonly used single‐molecule techniques, and illustrate their relevance through two representative case studies: chromatin organization by SMC complexes and pathway choice during DNA double‐strand break repair.

Analysis of in situ water velocity distributions in the lowland river floodplain covered by grassland and reed marsh habitats - a case study of the bypass channel of Warta River (Western Poland)

open access: yesJournal of Hydrology and Hydromechanics, 2017
The analysis of in situ measurements of velocity distribution in the floodplain of the lowland river has been carried out. The survey area was located on a bypass channel of the Warta River (West of Poland) which is filled with water only in case of ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Use of conventional flow resistance equations and a model for the Nikuradse roughness in vegetated flows at high submergence

open access: yesJournal of Hydrology and Hydromechanics, 2018
This study examines the problem of flow resistance due to rigid vegetation in open channel flow. The reliability of the conventional flow resistance equations (i.e. Keulegan, Manning and Chézy-Bazin) for vegetated flows at high submergence, i.e. h/k >5, (
