A comparative study of applying Mason’s Rule in the case of flow-graphs and bond-graphs [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 2009
The paper presents two methods to analyzethe electric circuits using the flow-graphs and thebond-graphs studying the differences between thesemethods. As it can be noticed, the two methods are totallydifferent; their common point being Mason’s rule thatis

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Quasinormal modes, Superradiance and Area Spectrum for 2+1 Acoustic Black Holes

open access: yes, 2004
We present an exact expression for the quasinormal modes of acoustic disturbances in a rotating 2+1 dimensional sonic black hole (draining bathtub fluid flow) in the low frequency limit and evaluate the adiabatic invariant proposed by Kunstatter. We also

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Multi-scale Modeling of the Impact Response of a Strain Rate Sensitive High-Manganese Austenitic Steel

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2014
A multi-scale modeling approach was applied to predict the impact response of a strain rate sensitive high-manganese austenitic steel. The roles of texture, geometry and strain rate sensitivity were successfully taken into account all at once by coupling

Priority Rules, Internalization and Payment for Order Flow *

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal
Abstract Internalization happens when orders submitted through the same broker are intentionally matched to each other on-exchange or off-exchange. We study the impact of allowing (modes of) internalization on trading rates, investor welfare, and payment for order flow (PFOF).

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Stokesian swimmers and active particles

open access: yes, 2015
The net steady state flow pattern of a distorting sphere is studied in the framework of the bilinear theory of swimming at low Reynolds number. It is argued that the starting point of a theory of interacting active particles should be based on such a ...

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

The Aggregation Mechanism Mining of Passengers’ Flow with Period Distribution Based on Suburban Rail Lines

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2017
Stranding too many passengers at the stations will reduce the service level; if measures are not taken, it may lead to serious security problems. Deeply mining the time distribution mechanism of passenger flow will guide the operation enterprises to make
