Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

SEROLOGICAL DIAGNOSIS OF CANINE BRUCELLLOSIS IN A KENNEL OF KOLKATA, INDIA [PDF]

open access: yesExploratory Animal and Medical Research, 2013
Antibodies against Brucella canis was detected in 5 out of 10 Labrador bitches tested for brucellasis by 2-mercapto-ethanol rapid slide agglutination Test and lateral flow immunechromatographic assay at Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

Large-Scale Integration of All-Glass Valves on a Microfluidic Device

open access: yesMicromachines, 2016
In this study, we developed a method for fabricating a microfluidic device with integrated large-scale all-glass valves and constructed an actuator system to control each of the valves on the device.

Scanned-cantilever atomic force microscope [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
We have developed a 3.6 µm scan range atomic force microscope that scans the cantilever instead of the sample, while the optical-lever detection apparatus remains stationary.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Tsunami generated by a granular collapse down a rough inclined plane

open access: yes, 2014
In this Letter, we experimentally investigate the collapse of initially dry granular media into water and the subsequent impulse waves. We systematically characterize the influence of the slope angle and the granular material on the initial amplitude of ...

Regularization of Discontinuous Foliations: Blowing up and Sliding Conditions via Fenichel Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We study the regularization of an oriented 1-foliation $\mathcal{F}$ on $M \setminus \Sigma$ where $M$ is a smooth manifold and $\Sigma \subset M$ is a closed subset, which can be interpreted as the discontinuity locus of $\mathcal{F}$.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

A method for nucleic acid hybridization to isolated chromosomes in suspension [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
A procedure was developed to provide differential fluorescent staining of metaphase chromosomes in suspension following nucleic acid hybridization. For this purpose metaphase chromosomes were isolated from a Chinese hamster x human hybrid cell line ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.
