Comparative efficacy of selenoureido carbonic anhydrase inhibitors and azole antifungal drugs against clinical isolates of Malassezia pachydermatis. [PDF]

open access: yesVet Dermatol
Background – Malassezia pachydermatis (MP) is implicated in severe dermatitis and otitis externa (OE) of companion animals and recently gained attention for its increasing resistance to azole compounds. For this reason, developing novel therapeutic strategies is of great interest. In a previous work, we used reference yeast isolates to evaluate several

Synergistic effect of low‐frequency ultrasound and antibiotics on the treatment of Klebsiella pneumoniae pneumonia in mice

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 15, Issue 11, Page 2819-2830, November 2022., 2022
In the present in vivo study, we provide evidence showing that LFU can improve the efficacy of meropenem (MEM) or amikacin (AMK) in Kp pneumonia model. LFU combined with antibiotics significantly improved the survival state of mice, decrease the counts per second (CPS), accelerated the clearance of bacteria and reduced inflammatory injury of lung.
