Psychological Safety Among Interprofessional Pediatric Oncology Teams in Germany: A Nationwide Survey

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Psychological safety (PS) is essential for teamwork, communication, and patient safety in complex healthcare environments. In pediatric oncology, interprofessional collaboration occurs under high emotional and organizational demands. Low PS may increase stress, burnout, and adverse events.

Fluctuation-Driven First-Order Transition in Pauli-limited d-wave Superconductors

open access: yes, 2004
We study the phase transition between the normal and non-uniform (Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov) superconducting state in quasi two-dimensional d-wave superconductors at finite temperature.

Combinatorial Results in Fluctuation Theory

open access: yesThe Annals of Mathematical Statistics, 1963
The main purpose of the paper is to prove a combinatorial extension of a recent theorem of Baxter [6] concerning partial sums of random variables. The method of proof is closely related to that used by Sparre Andersen [1] in his basic 1949 paper which initiated the combinatorial approach to problems in fluctuation theory.

DELP Treatment on Vision and Retinal Microcirculation in Patients With Acute Ischemic Stroke: Report of Five Cases and Literature Review

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The delipid extracorporeal lipoprotein filter from plasma (DELP) treatment can effectively reduce blood lipid, increase blood flow, and improve neurological deficits in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). However, its effect on vision and retinal microcirculation in stroke patients has never been reported.

Twinlike models with identical linear fluctuation spectra

open access: yes, 2011
Recently, the possibility of so-called twinlike field theories has been demonstrated, that is, of different field theories which share the same topological defect solution with the same energy density.

Spin Fluctuation Theory for Quantum Tricritical Point Arising in Proximity to First-Order Phase Transitions: Applications to Heavy-Fermion Systems, YbRh2Si2, CeRu2Si2, and beta-YbAlB4 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We propose a phenomenological spin fluctuation theory for antiferromagnetic quantum tricritical point (QTCP), where the first-order phase transition changes into the continuous one at zero temperature.

A Comparative Study of Cerebral Oxygenation During Exercise in Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Cognitive impairment and exercise intolerance are common in dialysis patients. Cerebral perfusion and oxygenation play a major role in both cognitive function and exercise execution; HD session per se aggravates cerebral ischemia in this population. This study aimed to compare cerebral oxygenation and perfusion at rest and in mild

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Credibility Methods for Individual Life Insurance

open access: yesRisks, 2018
Credibility theory is used widely in group health and casualty insurance. However, it is generally not used in individual life and annuity business. With the introduction of principle-based reserving (PBR), which relies more heavily on company-specific ...

Observability of quantum phase fluctuations in cuprate superconductors

open access: yes, 2001
We study the order parameter phase fluctuation effects in cuprate superconductors near T=0, using a quasi-two-dimensional d-wave BCS model. An effective phason theory is obtained which is used to estimate the strength of the fluctuations, the fluctuation
