Molecular thermodynamics using fluctuation solution theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011

Fluctuation Theory for Moran's Genetics Model

open access: yes, 1997
A genetics model of Moran—which includes the Bernoulli–Laplace urn as a special case—is examined to give a picture of the model's fluctuation theory and asymptotics as the number of states grows large, with particular attention to the time of passage ...

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Nanometer Scale Atomic Structure of Zirconium Based Bulk Metallic Glass

open access: yes, 2011
We have studied the nanometer scale structure of bulk metallic glass (BMG) using fluctuation electron microscopy (FEM). The nanometer scale medium range order (MRO) in BMG is of significant interest because of its possible relationship to the properties,

ESR1 methylation and ESR1 mutations in circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and paired plasma‐cfDNA of advanced breast cancer patients: A feasibility proof‐of‐concept study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and plasma cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) were analyzed to detect ESR1 mutations and methylation in patients with advanced breast cancer. CTC‐derived DNA showed higher sensitivity for mutation detection and revealed complementary genetic and epigenetic alterations, highlighting the added value of CTC analysis for understanding ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

The classical fluctuation model for inelastic collisional interactions - I : Theory

open access: yes, 1985
Using an analogy with Statistical Thermodynamics and the Einstein equation for fluctuation probabilities a “fluctuation” model for the inelastic collisional interaction governing molecular energy transfers is introduced.

Multi-fractal fluctuation features of thermal power coal price in China

open access: yes, 2016
Within the current energy structure in China, coal consumption accounts for 60% of the total energy consumption. Understanding the features of coal prices is important to the energy industry as the prices have a profound impact on the energy development,

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Beyond the linear fluctuation-dissipation theorem: the role of causality

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we tackle the traditional problem of relating the fluctuations of a system to its response to external forcings and extend the classical theory in order to be able to encompass also nonlinear processes.
